What will the state of bobbleheads look like in 15 years?

So if we look 15 years from now, it would be 2032. New players will be up and coming and players like Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis, Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, Corey Seager will be soon ending their careers. The evolution of bobbleheads I’m sure will be as strong as it is today.

With technology rising like no other would think, what will bobbleheads evolve to 15 years from now? I’ve come up with a few ideas of my own and this is where I see bobbles in the future.

  1. Bobbleheads will move with the touch of a button. If it’s a pitcher, you press the button and the player will motion like he’s throwing the ball. A hitter will take a full swing. A basketball player will jump and motion he’s shooting the ball.
  2. We, as collector’s will be able to talk to the bobblehead. You flip a button, and you speak to the bobble. Technology will program in a set of responses that the player or mascot will respond to your question.
  3. We, as collector’s will be able to position a player in any stance we want. If you want Kershaw hitting, you position his body in a hitting stance using material similar to the character “Gumby”. If you want Manny Machado fielding a ground ball at 3rd, you position him in a fielder’s stance.
  4. We, as collector’s will have the ability to interchange uniforms, helmets, cleats and hats. If Bryce Harper decides to jump ship and go to the Yankees, YOU will have the ability to change his uniform from the Nationals to the Pinstripes of New York.

Money and pricing on these ideas is another story, but this is where bobbleheads will be in over a decade from now. You heard it first. Technology is evolving to dramatic measures and the future of bobbleheads will arrive before you know it!

Weekend Recap! London gets attacked/Pujols hits 600th HR/Volquez throws No Hitter

Sad news again in London this past weekend. 3 fuckers decided to run their van into a crowd of people, then flee and stabbed a bunch of people. Fucking terrorism man. These bastards are willing to give their lives up in order to kill innocent people. The death toll is roughly 6-8 now and many more injured. If it’s not a gun or bomb,it’s now stabbing people. Terrorism seems to be at it’s highest as these disgusting acts of violence are happening more frequently. Whether it’s on US soil or another place, it needs to stop and I don’t think anyone has the answer on how to stop it. A filthy act of terrorism overshadows 2 great accomplishments. #PrayforLondon

Now, on to some more positive news. Albert Pujols jacked his 600th Homerun Saturday night. This dude gets over shadowed all the time as people think he’s washed up and old. He’s still chipping away and just entered elite company by hitting his 600th. One thing to factor in, is Pujols was never brought up on steroids so this accomplishment is as legit as they come. Good for him. He deserves it. He’s been through a lot in his career by battling foot problems and he’s still hitting bombs. Guess what? He’s not done yet. I think he’s got a few more years in the tank. Plus, he’s 124 hits away from 3,000. Check your ballot for FIRST BALLOT HALL OF FAMER. Congrats Albert. Well done.

What a weekend for the Marlins and Edison Volquez. Listen, lets’s be honest here. The Marlins don’t have much going for them this year. They are 10.5 games behind Washington and it’s not even the All-Star break yet. Besides Stanton, they have a few quality ball players, but not much after that. I have a good buddy who goes to many Marlins games as he lives in Miami and shows me pictures of an empty stadium almost every night. No one goes. I don’t think they sniffed 18,00 for attendance even once this year.

So Volquez dropped this line. 9 innings pitched, 0 hits, 10 k’s and two walks. A gem of a game. This no hitter thrown is more important to the Marlins and the community than most people think. This was a way to honor and celebrate Jose Fernandez. Jose was their ace. He was dominant. This performance by Volquez reminded the Marlins and community of Jose. This was a “let’s bring our spirits up” kind of game. Excellent job by Edinson and I’m happy for Marlins fans. Hopefully, by this performance, it will bring more people to watch their games. Phenomenal weekend for the city of Miami.

Weekend Recap Tiger arrested/Trout on DL/Harper gets hit/Posey stands there

The biggest news of the weekend was Tiger getting arrested in Jupiter, Florida on suspicion of DUI. Let’s be real here. Tiger probably drives drunk all the time and drives home. 90% of the time when he gets pulled over the cops let him go considering who he is. This time Snipers it’s different. Few details have surfaced, but I’m thinking he hit another car or a fence on a property and the former #1 golfer in the world can’t escape this one. Have you ever seen a pronounced athlete go down hill so fast as Tiger? First, with all the girls he fucked behind his wife’s back now this? And to think he has so many charities and schools he founded for kids and now this happens? I’m thinking he had a few to many cranberry and vodka’s.

Now this weekend was not fun for any Angles fans. Trout placed on the DL with a torn ligament in his left thumb after sliding into second base. Hold your breathe Halo fans. This just sucks all around. The best player in the game goes down with an injury like this and could possibly need surgery to repair the ligament. If it wasn’t for Trout, this Angels team the last 5 years would only win 30 games per season. I’m being serious. Between a poor pitching staff and mediocre hitters, this team cannot afford a long lasting injury to Trout. The front office has done NOTHING  to help their stud outfielder for years and I’m surprised he’s willing to play for them any longer. Fingers crossed he gets good news and can avoid surgery.

Now this event that happened during the Giants and Nationals game yesterday really pissed me off. Harper gets a bad rap for being cocky, a punk and a hot head. Is he? Sometimes. But yesterday was no joke as this was not his fault. Yes, I know the past few years Harper went yard off of Hunter Strickland and he did “pimp” his homeruns. The game has changed. Pimping your homerun like Joey Bats is uncalled for. Harper didn’t pimp his like Bats did.

When a pitcher gets a huge strikeout and pumps his fist is that okay but a little bat flip isn’t? I got into a big argument with a few buddies on our text chain and a number of them thought Harper was in the wrong and deserved to get beaned. I disagree. Strickland knew what he was doing. Instead of being a pussy by hitting him, why not try to get out the guy who takes you yard every time you face him? Big time pussy move by a no named pitcher. Don’t bean someone because you can’t get them out you little bitch.

Now to the fight. This wasn’t a fight. Harper attempted to chuck his helmet and instead threw it to the second baseman. Then a few blows were thrown and it was over. If I can see correctly in the video, each player landed a half punch which is nothing. Not a huge brawl by any means and Strickland should be shelved for 10 games without pay.

Oh, Buster you little rascal you. Posey wanted nothing to do with this fight and any fan of baseball knows the catcher should step in front of the charging player and end it. Buster, on the other hand, stood there like a statue and didn’t do dick. He’s supposed to be a veteran and a clubhouse leader and you stand there and do nothing? Seems like a a lot of teammates won’t look at him the same way anymore.

Weekend Recap-Cubs Game Canceled/Jay Buhner Bobble/Warriors Roll

What a crazy weekend. First thing to mention is the Cubs game got canceled because of rain and thousands of fans got to the park early to receive their “Final Out” bobblehead commemorating the World Series. Apparently, the organization did not give two shits about the fans. They canceled the game minutes before the gates were to open and fans were livid. If I was there I’d jump the fucking gates and get my bobble. They refused to look out for the fans by canceling it earlier and I don’t blame fans for being pissed considering they sat out there in the cold, windy rain for hours. Fuck the Cubs. The fans there are as loyal as they come and this is what you do to your fans? Eventually the crowd found out the game will be moved to a early July date in which fans can obtain their bobble. It really sucks and I’d be livid!

The Mariners handed out a dope Jay Buhner bobble on Saturday. Buhner was no where near close to Hall of Fame status but the dude used to hit fucking bombs! He’s known for his bald dome and fans adored him. Great guy overall and even a cooler bobble.

The Spurs can get out of their own way. Parker out, Leonard out and David Lee went down. The Warriors just toyed with the Spurs on their home court and I guess you can say the NBA is just waiting for the rematch of last year’s finals. It’s what everyone wants to see and it’s evident it’s going to happen. Poor Spurs though. They deal with so much shit and coach Pop does his best to keep his guys under control.

What can be done to better protect bobbleheads when shipped from the manufacturer?

What can be done to help protect bobbleheads from the manufacturer?

I’m sure we’ve all had our fair shares of broken bobbleheads arrive at our front doorstep. I’m not talking about buying one’s from Ebay that are used, I’m talking about buying from Clark’s, Shop.MLB or even receiving a SGA from a ballpark. What can our little friends over in China do to avoid breakage of bobbleheads when they arrive to us. Big companies bring in pallets of thousands of bobbleheads and they don’t inspect every single box as they shouldn’t. We all know the little baggies that they put the bobble in and the neck protector etc. But this still remains a problem considering how fragile bobbles are.

My only suggestion is possibly Saran or Glad Wrap? It wraps anything and everything nice and snug and tight. Containers, hot chicks, cars and if you wrap a bobblehead, I’m pretty sure it will arrive in once piece right? You and I both know this will never happen because the time it would take to wrap thousands of bobbleheads around the arms, legs and the base, would take forever.

Any suggestions? There’s got to be a more safer way to package these bobbles up and Saran Wrap is my only early thought.

Ebay Suspended me for a week for being a nice guy…

So over the weekend I received a message from Ebay that my account is suspended for 7 days. They said I broke protocol which I did, by doing transactions off of Ebay.

I receive a shit ton of messages over Ebay regarding if I can lower my price on a certain bobblehead. I don’t mind doing that at all because the customer saves money on the final price and I save on Ebay fees. Since Ebay blocks the use of email addresses, I typically take a picture of my business card which has my email address on it. Then the customer emails me and we complete the transaction strictly through Paypal. I’d say 85% of my sales are done through Paypal only. Ebay did warn me a few months back but I continued to help my customers as well as save on fees.

People who complain that bobblehead prices are high don’t know shit about the business. You have to acquire the bobblehead somehow, then pay 10% fees to Ebay when your item sells, 5% fees to Paypal and usually $1.00 for shipping fees. Yes, they charge you a fee to use their paper shipping label.

Listen, I know companies and everybody in general need to make buck, but Ebay are a bunch of leeches. Blood suckers! They constantly raise fees and since they own Paypal, Paypal has raised fees. It’s very hard to make a decent profit when your selling items on the biggest platform. The entire world searches Ebay because it’s where you will most likely find what you’re looking for. Now maybe, if Ebay kept their fees the same instead of constantly going up, people would enjoy using their services to sell items.

I guess for trying to be a nice guy to help people save money as well as myself, is the price you pay when you deal with the BIG BOYS of Ebay.
