Bobble of the Day “Miss Lippy” Akron Rubberducks

Bobble of the Day

Miss Lippy (Billy Madison)

Team: Akron Rubberducks

Year: 2016

Manufacturer: ?

Billy Madison falls ever so slightly under the radar of being an all-time classic movie. It’s funny. It’s silly. It’s a feel good movie. And her we have Miss Lippy; Billy’s first grade teacher who sends the students out to recess and proceeds to put glue all over her face like its cum. She’s oddball character but people love her and so do I.

The Akron Rubberducks are known to give out themed, movie bobbles and they decided this year to hand out a Miss Lippy. I heard she was at the ballpark signing autographs. I like this one a lot. It adds character to any collection. And if you’ve never seen the movie Billy Madison before, go staple your nuts to a cork board because your missing out. Great line of characters and just funny one liners all around.

On to the bobble. Miss Lippy stands roughly 7 inches tall and has a home plate base which is bad ass. She’s wearing the identical outfit as she is in the movie and same hairstyle with the heavy bangs over her forehead. Speaking of heavy, her lipstick is thick and bright as fuck. And of course, the jar of white glue she is holding just waiting to spread it all over her face.

Sniper Rating: Anyone in their right mind that’s seen this movie knows that Miss Lippy plays a huge roll in Billy’s future and success. I mean, after all, Miss Lippy is his first grade teacher! Overall, great detail, colors and just an outstanding idea to even come up with a bobble replicating Miss Lippy. Yet another standout job by the Rubberducks as this one is getting a 9.0 rating.

PS- It comes in a standard white box. If it came in a colored box with sponsors and pictures of Miss Lippy, it would be a sure fire 10.0. I hate the WHITE BOXES!

Bobble of the Day “Kris Bryant” Iowa Cubs

Bobble of the Day

Player: Kris Bryant

Team: Iowa Cubs (Chicago Cubs)

Year: 2016

Manufacturer: PSG

Kris Bryant is the brand new face of baseball (besides Mookie Betts of course) as a Cubs slugger. The Iowa Cubs in which Bryant played for during the 2014-2015 season came out with a dope bobble of the star. If you haven’t caught on to Kris Bryant yet, you better because he’s a future Hall of Famer in the making. This bobble depicts Kris in his stance perfectly as his bat is cocked and ready to unload on a long ball. The pinstripe uniform along with the navy blue long sleeve undershirt resembles who he is as a player. I love the red base and especially the raised lettering all around the bobblehead. You know my opinion regarding the stickers many companies choose to slap on as it looks awful. PSG in addition put his #17 on the side and highlighted Iowa Cubs and the year he played there.

Sniper Rating: I love minor league bobbles and more importantly this one. A lot of detail went into creating this one given the bright colors, raised lettering around the base and especially that his face looks just like Kris Bryant. Along with the bobblehead, the box is fresh as fuck too. It has a gloss that sits atop the cardboard and all 4 sides is laced with pictures of Bryant and the Cubs logo. Any Cubs fan needs this in their collection. The value is reasonable and the styrofoam box fits nice and snug to avoid damage during transit. The bobble is well made and of course the player is a star who will only get better. Job well done Iowa Cubs as your product of Mr. Bryant is getting a 9.0.

Bobble of the Day “Clayton Kershaw” Real Jersey

Bobble of the Day

Player: Clayton Kershaw (Real Jersey)

Team: Los Angeles Dodgers

Year: 2015

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

So last year FOCO came out with a line of bobbleheads where players are fitted in real “cloth” jerseys. At first, I thought this is a very creative idea. It really does feel like a real material based jersey. One has to understand that companies that produce bobbleheads year after year have to come up with new ideas. Each years set up bobbles cannot be similar to previous years. There has to be change. I applaud Forever Collectibles on this idea as it’s very unique.

They only came out with 8-10 players for this specific series and it was a good idea because these did not sell well. All over the internet and on Ebay you can find these willingly. This Kershaw in particular has him in a stance replicating ready to throw a seed to home plate. The base is a standard shit brown color and of course the lettering of Kershaw’s name is slapped on with a sticker. I HATE THE STICKER LETTERING. It looks cheap and not authentic. Also, FOCO made the players in this series a larger size as they are 10 inch bobbles. Kershaw’s hair looks pretty cool but his skin color is way to light. He looks like a ghost for god’s sake.

The main highlight on this one is the cloth jersey. It’s okay and it doesn’t wow me like I thought it would. It’s pretty flimsy in texture but thank god it’s glued pretty tight to the body.

Sniper Rating: Overall, this is an okay bobble. Very few people bought this one which means it’s not very popular with collector’s. I didn’t buy any other players except for Kershaw because I wanted to see and feel it in person. This could quite possibly be raffled off in a monthly giveaway as I don’t mind parting with it. I don’t love it and I don’t hate it. It’s eh in my book. Given the fact that it’s probably the first bobble I own that has a real cloth jersey material brings the rating up a tad. We’ll go with a 6.5 on this Clayton Kershaw real “cloth” jersey bobble.

Bobble of the Day “Noah Thor Syndergaard”

Bobble of the Day

Player: Noah Syndergaard

Team: New York Mets

Year: 2016

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

Noah Syndergaard was given the nickname “Thor” because of of his long blond hair and muscular figure. Why did it take so long for a bobblehead to be created of Thor with him holding the hammer? Was it a bitch to get Marvel to agree to terms to use his patent hammer on a Syndergaard bobble? It doesn’t matter anymore because here it is.

Forever Collectibles recently came out with Syndergaard ready to throw down the fucking hammer. Everyone loves Syndergaard. He’s the face of the franchise and he just has the look. The long blond hair, throwing 100 mph and striking out any batter in any lineup when he wants to. This bobblehead displays Syndergaard in his throwing position and most importantly holding his famous “Thor Hammer”. I think Mets fans have been waiting for this bobblehead ever since Noah threw his first pitch as a New York Met. The old school pinstripe uniform is total kick ass which brings back memories of the old Shea Stadium. The base is very unique as he’s standing on the pitcher’s mound with a little grass surrounding him. In addition, the New York City backdrop is seen on the back of the base which is definitely and added effect.

Sniper Rating: Syndergaard is the fucking man. He’s big, he throws hard, he plays in New York and his nickname is Thor. What else can you ask for? This bobble has it all but I think FOCO was a little cheap by just putting a sticker on the front to display his name. I think they could have engraved it as it would stand out much more. The legs could have a little more definition but overall a solid themed bobble. Limited to only 288, you better get this one before it runs away from the shelves. Thor gets a 9.0.

Bobble of the Day “Charles Woodson” Rose Bowl

Bobble of the Day

Player: Charles Woodson

Team: Michigan Wolverines

Year: 2014

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

This is a one of a kind bobblehead. This limited release of Charles Woodson holding a rose in his mouth after winning the Rose Bowl in 1998 was an epic moment in college football. Woodson was the Heisman Winner that year and the Wolverines went 11-0.

Forever Collectibles did a very superb job on this one. The base is sick with the logo “M” with Charles Woodson splattered right in front. The contrast of the yellow base and navy blue lettering stands out tremendously. The yellow pants with the navy blue jersey and the mini logo of “M” is on the top left of his leg. I love the white arm ties that he has on and of course the navy blue gloves. FOCO didn’t stop there. He’s holding his helmet which add so much character to depict him still on the field celebrating with the Wolverine faithful. And now comes the rose. What a bad ass feature! He won the Heisman, he was the best corner in college football and now he’s got the bright red rose with the colorful green stem in his mouth. Total kick ass. These sold out fast and is only limited to 200.

Sniper Rating: Everyone loves Charles Woodson. Whether your a college football fan or and NFL type a guy, there’s not one bad thing to say about this dude. Every team he’s been on he’s a leader. There’s no denying that. This limited release bobble given it’s color combinations, detail on the base, intrinsic helmet feature and of course the Rose, leads to a 9.5 rating. I’m being picky here but on the back of the base, if it said, “Rose Bowl Champions” this would get a stand up 10.0 rating.

Bobble of the Day “One-Eyed Willie”

Bobble the Day

One-Eyed Willie (Goonies)

Team: Potomac Nationals

Year: 2015 SGA

Manufacturer: Success Promotions

ALL TIME CLASSIC movie right here Snipers. Back in 1985 The Goonies was a hit movie and still is today. Every time it’s on TBS or TNT I watch it. It brings back memories and the cast is fucking unreal. There are so many good parts to this movie I don’t feel like listing them all because I can go on forever. The overall goal is to find One-Eyed Willie’s secret stash of gold and the Goonies found it. The entire movie leads up to One-Eyed. Once the camera pans over to him your heart stops because “There he is”. Fucking Willie. Big ole patch covering his eye, old pirate washed up outfit, skeleton head and the shit ton of jewels and gold surround him.

The Potomac Nationals went the distance on this one. A fantastic themed bobblehead that a fuck load of fans came out for in 2015. The detail is incredible as he looks just like the character himself. He’s missing half of his left leg, he’s rocking the pirate hat and just a big fat pot of gold sits right beneath him. I’ve seen tons of bobbleheads in my day but I’ve never seen an actual skeleton face created this perfect. The colors are rugged and the fine details within his jaw line, wrinkles on his hat and the gold coins stacked up high is phenomenal.

Sniper Rating: I grew up in the 80’s so I know this movie very well. I skipped so many homework assignments after school just to come home and watch this movie. Not one part is dull and the whole plot kicks major ass. Given the movie is a classic, the overall detail and colors on Willie stand out and the box itself is attractive, this bobble is a sure fire 10.0 with no complaints whatsoever. There’s a few on Ebay for under $50.00 so I’d jump on one if you don’t already have it.
