Bobble of the Day “Shaquille O’Neal”

Bobble of the Day

Player: Shaquille O’Neal

Team: Los Angeles Lakers

Year: 2014

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

So FOCO came out with a line of newspaper based bobbles of roughy 30 players back in 2014. The entire set is fresh as hell and I chose to highlight Shaq as the first blog for “Bobble of the Day”. Shaq was the most dominant big man for a shit ton of years. Was he flashy? No. Was he a good shooter? No. But the dude was an absolute brick shit house that no other defender wanted to fuck with.

This particular bobble stands out so much because Shaq is rocking his all-yellow warmup jumpsuit. Who doesn’t like Laker yellow as a color? The design is a fresh look instead of just a player wearing his shorts and tank top jersey. The Laker logo is printed on the front left chest and on the back is “Lakers” in purple. FRESH AS HELL. I do like the base as a newspaper as it gives a different character to the bobblehead itself. This one in particular is highlighting Shaq as the MVP of the 2001-2002 Finals where he dominated. Proudly, The Big Disel is holding his MVP trophy like a boss.

Sniper Rating: Given the fact that Shaq was unstoppable for many years and the fact that the facial features are pretty exact, this is a must have in your collection. I also love that FOCO gave him a go-tee which adds a piss load of uniqueness. The Big Man in his all decked out Laker warmup jumpsuit scores an easy 9.0.

Here’s to the Big Man.

Bobble of the Day “Lebron James”

Bobble of the Day

Player: Lebron James

Team: Cleveland Cavaliers

Year: 2016

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

There’s really no explanation for this Lebron bobble. He’s the man. Was he a douche when he was on national TV with the “Decision” when he announced that he was taking his talents to South Beach to play for the Heat? Yes. Absolutely. But you cannot deny the fact that this dude can go to the worst team in the NBA and gain them 35-40 more wins. Guys like Lebron only come around once in a blue moon and the fact that so many people hate him is understandable, but people take his talents for granted. What he did to the Warriors was undeniably incredible.

So this is his championship trophy MVP award bobble and it’s fucking sprayed with a shit ton of detail. All black sneakers to socks to shorts to jersey is boss! The facial features look on point with the beard and FOCO was generous with the hairline. He’s holding his trophy and deservingly so as he completely carried the team to the championship. The MVP letters are attached to the back of the base and the color matches the Cavs colors. I totally dig the 2016 championship emblem on the front as it adds character to the overall bobble. Also, on Bron’s arms and legs there are tattoos everywhere which is gangster! I’m not 100% sure what his tats are on his arms but on the side of his leg it says “Witness”. I’ve seen other bobbles that have tats on them but nothing like this. Very excellent detail by FOCO. I do like the yellow color surrounding strip that outlines the base. You should already know my grip. The Lebron James lettering is a god damn sticker. Come on FOCO, put the extra $1.50 and make it raised lettering as Lebron has been chasing a ring for the city of Cleveland forever!

Sniper Rating: Whether you like or dislike Lebron, this NEEDS to be in your collection. This bobble is the equivalent of having a championship bobble of Magic, Larry or Jordan. It’s a must have as players like Lebron RARLEY come around. You can hate him or love him, but you can never hate on his ability. Take the personality out of it, Lebron is an absolute beast. That being said, King James scores a 9.0 on his first ring for the beloved Cleveland Cavaliers.

Bobble of the Day “Aaron Rodgers”

Player: Aaron Rodgers

Team: Green Bay Packers

Year: 2011

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

You gotta love what Aaron Rodgers has done ever since he took Brett Favre’s place as Green Bay’s quarterback. Does the dude have weapons all around him? Yes he does. But the fact that he’s so calm in the pocket and given the fact that he can scramble makes him a top tier QB in the league.

This bobble highlights Rodgers winning the Super Bowl MVP award back in 2011.  He absolutely killed it that year and his Super Bowl performance was even more insane. The base is super dope as it’s got the championship ring on the front with the Green Bay logo. The letters “MVP” are spelled out on the back which adds a great feature to the overall base. I love that the entire base is a shiny chrome color as it makes the bobble that much more attractive. It’s very eye appealing as it also matches the MVP trophy the Rodger’s is holding. The football pants are standard yellow and green along with basic white socks. I like how FOCO had Rodgers wear the championship T-shirt that players wear after they win the big game. It just adds authenticity of the huge accomplishment the players achieved all season.

Sniper Rating: Rodgers is the man in all regards. He’s a proven winner and a shoe in to the Hall of Fame in Canton. I have this identical bobblehead in a 16 incher but I like this 8” one much better. It’s more compact and can easily slide into your curio cabinet. Try your best to score this one for the collection as it’s a must have. In 20 years we all will be looking back and saying how truly good A. Rodgers was and you’ll definitely kick yourself in the nuts if you didn’t add this one in your collection. Given the fact that Rodgers is easily a top 2 QB in the league and how truly badass this bobble is, I’m confident with an overall 9.5 rating on this one.

Bobble of the Day ” Manu Ginobili”

Bobble of the Day

Player: Manu Ginobili

Team: San Antonio Spurs

Year: 2005

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

Manu has been flying under the radar for years as Tony Parker and Tim Duncan have taken the spotlight during their Championship runs. What people don’t realize is that Manu was a huge part of the Spurs success. Without the Argentinian, the Spurs would have not beaten the Pistons in the 2005 season to win the title.

This 2005, Championship series is so hard to find. If you surf Ebay long enough you may be able to complete the set but your going to play a hefty price tag for sure. I dig this Manu a lot because of one thing. The arm raise. It just shows power. It shows control. Any Spurs fan needs this one in their collection. The base is unique as it’s a mixture of silver and gold combined together. I’ve never seen anything like it before. It’s got the year they won it (2005) along with the NBA log on a basketball. The words “Champions” is splattered right in from top the base on RAISED letters! Hell ya! And of course it’s got the Spurs logo on the right corner. The trophy is pretty basic as well as the white shorts and jersey Manu’s is rocking. The facial features cannot be more on point as it looks like Manu with his long face. In addition, FOCO put a nice full length of hair on Manu before he started balding very poorly.

Sniper Rating: All signs point to a strong rating on Mr. Ginobili.  Without a doubt he’s going to the Hall of Fame one dyad deservingly so. The bobble is hard to find which makes it a gift if you can find it. The box is definitely a plus with the various blue colors and the NBA logo all around. Any NBA fan NEEDS this in their curio as Manu has played in a great era of basketball and at times he’s been seen as underrated. A true Hall of Famer as Manu’s 2005 Championship bobble scores a 9.5.

Bobble of the Day “Hines Ward”

Bobble of the Day

Player: Hines Ward

Team: Pittsburgh Steelers

Year: 2006

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

Fucking Hines Ward man. The guy is a Steeler legend and what he did in Super Bowl 50 was boss. He caught 5 passes for 123 yards and a TD which solidified him as the MVP.

Now this bobble is mother f’n hard to find. These sold out quickly as Steeler Nation loves their team and apparently there are a lot of bobbles collectors in Pennsylvania. We’ll start off with the base shining bright with a chrome finish to it. The letters MVP stand strong on the back and has the Super Bowl logo in the middle of the V. The front shows a lot of bling as the Championship ring sits with replica diamonds and the Steelers logo. I’ve determined any bobble that has a championship ring on the base is total badass. There’s no denying that aspect. You know you’ve made it when you have a diamond fucking ring next to your pose. The color combinations are pretty standard as far as Steelers colors are concerned. When the winning Super Bowl team wins the championship, they typically toss on the SB t-shirt and hat. Hines is wearing both in this special bobble along with the MVP trophy. He’s just standing there holding it like a boss!

img_2583  img_2584

Sniper Rating: Considering Steeler Nation are a bunch of crazy mother f’ers and given the fact that this is a hard bobble to come by, if you can find it, you better get it! The box is as detailed as they come with Steeler colors and Hines’ name and number are the focus on the front of the box, this a sure fire score. Hines and his historical MVP bobble receives a strong 9.5.

PS. One thing about Hines Ward that I don’t particularly like is the fact that when Jerome Bettis retired, Hines cried like a little bitch on national TV. Man up dude. It was Jerome’s time to hang it up and you need to control yourself a little. Other than that, get this bobble asap!

Bobble of the Day “Ozzie Smith”

Bobble of the Day

Player: Ozzie Smith

Team: St. Louis Cardinals

Year: 2016

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

So this year (2016) FOCO came out with a line of player bobbles that have their name and numbers on the back of stand up wall. They’ve made current players and a select few of the older players who made the Baseball Hall of Fame. I personally like this Ozzie Smith one the best for various reasons. The Wizard was the smoothest infielder to every play the game and he’s a huge fan favorite. Anybody that has ever had the chance to see Ozzie play knows how good he was.

The first thing that attracts the eye to this one is his follow through swing. It’s smooth, it’s clean and it displays great detail. He’s wearing a home uniform in white with very intrinsic detail with the red and blue pinstripes on his jersey and down the pant leg. I love the old school stir ups he’s wearing as that was a popular look in that era. The red cleats are on fire but I would have liked if FOCO put on matching red batting gloves to correspond with the rest of the uni. The helmet is very sturdy and has the Cardinals decal on the front. His facial hair, highlighting his beard is as accurate as they come. It looks identical to Ozzie in real life. The back base I know is the 2016 look but I could do without it. In my opinion it looks kind of blah but I know manufacturers have to come up with new ideas every year. Lastly, the Cooperstown Hall of Fame logo emblem placed on the front is boss. It just shows how good he was and the fact that he’s in the HOF says it all.

Sniper Rating: This is one bobble that belongs in your Curio. Between the color combinations, the fresh batting stance and the fact that it’s the Wizzard says enough. Very limited release on this one as I can surely see it only going up in value in a short time. A+ job by Forever Collectibles as Ozzie scores a 9.5.

PS. The box is has a wide range of colors and has the “Cooperstown Collection” splattered all over the place which almost makes me want to keep it in the box!
