Is it wrong to buy a bobble on Ebay then flip it back on Ebay for more money?

The majority of us buy bobbleheads on Ebay and cheer each other on when we “Snipe” for a great price. Whether you’re buying to add it to your collection, giving it to a friend or flipping it to make profit, we all have our reasons. But is it fucked up to buy “low” on Ebay, receive the bobble, then list it on Ebay for double what you paid for?

The reason I propose this question is because I received a message through Ebay last week and a seller was angry that I bought a bobble from him and then went and listed it back on Ebay. I stand here alone saying that I’m not the only one who does this and I’ll stand firm saying THERE’S NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. If you list an item on Ebay and don’t know the value then it’s your loss. It’s the same thing going to a tag or garage sale. Would a garage sale owner get pissed if I bought a board game for $5.00 and then flipped that shit on Ebay for $15.00? Who fucking cares. It’s the sellers fault they don’t know the market and it’s your gain. I actually do this all the time on Ebay. My knowledge of the market on Ebay is strong enough to know that I can buy low and sell high.

You should never feel guilty about buying low and flipping a bobble on Ebay for a higher price. NEVER. It’s the sellers lack of knowledge and your benefit. If that seller refuses to put in the leg work for an accurate price then they deserve to lose. I actually encourage this practice because I want you all to win and profit within the bobble game. There’s nothing wrong with it and don’t ever think otherwise.

How to Snipe Bobbleheads at a Game

How to Snipe Bobbleheads at any game.

This blog is way overdue because I am constantly getting asked how to Snipe at games to obtain extra bobbleheads. Every Sniper has their own tactic as there’s really no right or wrong way to Snipe. I’ve witnessed several times people stealing bobbles when someone has their back turned or when a family goes to the bathroom and when they come back, their bobbles are missing. That’s fucked up in the worst way and it bothers me when I see it. I’m no rat but it really pisses me off and I only hope karma will come around to those who steal.

So you all know you should arrive an hour to an hour and a half prior to the gates being open. Being there early is super important as you don’t want to waste too much time standing in line while thousands of people enter the gates and get a bobble before you.

Now, what I’m going to reveal is a SUPER easy practical way of Sniping. I call it a “Beginner Sniper Strategy”. Once a lot of you start using this and become masters, I will get into more advanced ways to Snipe.

A few days prior to the game, head to the bank and withdraw a bunch of $5.00 bills and some $10.00 bills as these will come in handy. You enter the stadium and immediately start asking opposing fans if you can have their bobblehead. 8 out of 10 times they probably won’t want it. If the Phillies are playing at Citi Field, those Philly fans will NOT want their Mets bobblehead. They are there just for the game and could care less about the bobble. ALWAYS ask opposing fans. Now, this is different at Minor League games as a lot of opposing fans don’t typically travel as much as a MLB fans do.

I know for a fact if you hustle your ass off and ask opposing fans, you can EASILY Snipe 6-7 within 45 minutes. Next, after asking opposing fans, try and hit up older women or grandpa’s that typically are there for the game. Half the time they don’t even know what’s in the box. Another group you can approach is a bunch of mid 20 year old dudes who are there to party and get drunk. They planned a game with their boys and all they want is to get shit faced. They don’t want the bobble. It’s a good bet you can snatch a few from this type of group. There will be that one stiff in the group named Sebastian who’s wearing skinny jeans and he’ll say something like, “I’d like to keep mine” and holds it snug to his chest. Fuck that guy and hit up the other dudes in his group.

Now, there will be times when it could get feisty. People will ask if you are reselling, trading, etc. Some may even say “What are you gonna give me”? This is when you pull out your small bills. Offer to buy a beer for someone. Offer to buy a hot dog for an old grandma. If your initial pitch is rejected after asking for the bobble, then use the “Ill buy you a beer method”. I typically don’t shell out money as I have a specific Sniper strategy that I’d rather not reveal at this time as I’d rather give you guys a PRACTICAL beginner strategy which is very effective.

Overall, this method is highly effective by many people reading this and have been using this tactic for years. So what you’re reading is nothing new. This blog is for the young bucks who ask me how I Snipe. I did not invent this method as it’s a very basic, practical strategy. If you are outgoing and you can negotiate then you’ll do just fine. If you have GREAT communication skills and have the confidence to approach just about anybody, then you should have no problem getting 10-20 bobbles per game. You’ll need a large backpack and a good sized Marshalls bag with a rope style handle. These two devices are critical to use depending how big the boxes are.

Now, the going in and going back out method varies depending on the stadium. The games that I attend don’t allow the re enter method so I won’t talk to much about that.

If you are new to Sniping, this “Beginner Sniper Strategy” should work well for you. Again, you need to have confidence and great communication skills. If you are shy and reserved, this will most likely not work for you. It’s all about having a good radar on people who you think will not want their bobblehead. Also, be prepared for rejection. Don’t let that discourage you! You have to apply confidence!

I always used this method all the time but over the past 3 years I’ve leveled up and developed a “Master Sniping Strategy” that I’m reluctant to share at this time. I’m a bit hesitant because if I reveal this higher level strategy, it could lead to EVERYONE doing it and if EVERYONE is doing it, sooner or later security will shut it down in a heartbeat.

Speaking of security, I will write blog soon on how to avoid the security squad as this is very important to the game of Sniping. Good Luck!

Is Mike Trout a Hall of Famer right now?

Is Mike Trout already a Hall of Famer? I know it’s early but……….he doesn’t have 3k hits (currently 1,185). He’s got only 239 Homeruns. Yes, he’s got Gold Gloves, MVP’s and Silver Slugger awards coming out of his anal glands. But if the world ended today, would he be in? I don’t wanna hear, “Give him another 12 years and his stats will be off the charts”.  I know they will. It’s obvious he’s gonna break all world fucking records. I’m talking right now. This second in time.  He also has zero World Series titles and not by any fault of his. The Angels organization year after year, surround him with god awful shit talent. So the question resumes, is Mike Trout a Hall of Famer right now?

The Boston Red Sox season thus far…

Listen, I’m not one to gloat about my Red Sox because I know the ship could sink quickly in the playoffs. You can literally win 115 games during the regular season and get bounced the fuck out of the playoffs faster than you got in there.

But this is a special team. Not because we are winning practically any game we play, but there’s no apparent weakness. Our hitting is tops in the bigs. Our pitching with the addition of Evoldi is downright nasty and our defense with 2 gold glove outfielders is tops in the bigs as well.

And this is not a gloat rant because we swept the Yankees. I know Judge and Sanchez didn’t play but either did our ace Chris Sale. I also realize things are different when we play at Yankee Stadium. The good thing that’s on our side is this past weekend, the Yankees looked vulnerable. Chapman looked absolutely lost and we downright have his number. Aaron Boone looked defeated in the worst way. Seeing video of him in the dugout with his hands covering his mouth was great in the eyes of Red Sox fans. He’s finally hitting a down whirl spiral and he clearly doesn’t know what to do. This also applies to Sonny “cry baby” Gray and others who have failed miserably.

I live and breathe by this team and any Sox fan has an extra step to them. What other team has done what we are doing in recent years? No one!

I pray the baseball gods don’t fuck with us in the playoffs and we keep rolling. This has been a phenomenal ride and it will continue. There’s nothing better than beating the shit out of the Yankees and watching their trash fan base curl up in a ball and cry for help.

If you haven’t been watching this team this season, it’s time to wake the fuck up.

BD&A has some explaining to do…

Let’s get right to the fucking point because I’m pissed off. BD&A has A LOT of explaining to do. The same Chewbacca design for 5 different team bobbleheads? Are you shitting me! So the marketing team of all 5 of these franchises decide to do a Star Wars Night and they reach out to BD&A. BD&A sends each team a “mold” design and it just so happens that the same design is used for 5 different Star Wars Nights. This is bullshit and lazy. Let’s just half ass it and create the same “mold” for the Mariners, Reds, A’s, Astros and the Mets. Ya the Met Chewbacca is sitting down but it’s still the same!

No arm wave, no “yelling” no hands on his head. Nothing. You may think, “Why the fuck is this so important” “Who gives a shit”. This is a big deal. This makes collector’s NOT want to score each and every one. I mean, what’s the point? They are ALL THE SAME but just on different bases! You collect for the bobblehead, not the base!

A little extra goes a long way and BD&A could have spiced it up. Now, do they look good? Do they have detail? Are they sharp looking? Yes, yes and yes. But they are the same.

If you ever send me a picture of all 5 of these within your display cabinet, I will not be impressed. Not at all. Is it impressive that you scored all 5? Probably. But the 5 of them displayed together looks blah. No pop, no swag, nothing.

I’m personally calling BD&A this week and giving them the riot act. They easily could have changed the pose or facial feature but they got lazy. Period.

There’s absolutely no reason why they couldn’t have used any of the below pictures for a different team.

Do bobblehead sales suffer when a team is horrible?

Have you ever wondered if a team that really stinks and are 25 games under .500, do bobblehead sales take a dip?

First things first. This blog is mainly for people who sell their bobbleheads either on Ebay, Facebook, Craigslist, Offer Up etc. I know a lot of you Snipers sell on many formats which includes myself. For example, I have a ton of Mets bobbleheads both retail and SGA’s. The Mets stink. They can’t even get out of their own way for shit’s sake. I looked through my past few month’s sales and I noticed a decline in selling Mets bobbles. Now, you can argue if a specific player is doing well, then why would his bobble not sell? But overall, if a team is doing so poorly, your bobblehead sales take a hit no matter what team it is. If you sell a wide range of bobbles that include a shit ton of teams, do yourself a favor and check out recent sales. I guarantee they have taken a hit. Fans stop going to games, fans get angry and ultimately, the majority of fans lose interest.

Here’s a helpful tip. For example, the Mets started the season 11-2. I looked at their home attendance the first month of the season almost every game. I looked at the past 2 months home attendance and it’s declined quite a bit. When a team sucks ass, fans would rather spend their money on other things besides dipping into their pockets to attend a game. It’s human nature and a very common behavior when a team is struggling.

Now, mascots are a whole different story. Typically, mascots never get old and fans always love them. They rarely change and fans always relate to them. But still, if a team is doing poorly and fans stop attending games, the mascot gets put on the back burner, as very little interest will remain with them.

If you’re a bobblehead seller, I’m not advising that you only score “winning” teams bobbles and you know why? Teams change over the course of any year and  a team can get really good fast. Take the Braves or the Mariners for example. All of a sudden this year, they are really, really good.

I use an Excel spreadsheet and I advise all of you Snipers to do so. It’s easy, it’s comprehensive and it’s the best way to keep track of sales and profits. Do yourself a favor and browse through your recent transactions and see if there’s a dip in “losing” teams bobbles.
