The proper bags to bring to a game when Sniping

When Sniping at a game you need the proper materials in order to walk away knowing you gained some leverage. This blog only pertains to a no re-entry rule, meaning you cannot go back into the stadium with another ticket. When Sniping, you have to have to bring multiple bags. Whether it be a large backpack or some Marshalls shopping bag. If you’re Sniping solo, you gotta bring more than one bag. The bag has to be very sturdy because if it’s a cheap plastic team store bag, the handles will eventually rip. TJ Maxx and Marshalls have excellent shopping bags that can fit a a bunch of standard SGA bobblehead boxes. These particular bags have a foot long handle and are crazy weather proof. The one I have has lasted me a good 8 years now and it’s been through a ton of games. I can fit a good 16 bobbles in that bag and I do have a huge backpack that I can fit a bunch more in. Now, before you ask, bobblehead boxes vary in size. For example, the Game of Thrones Syndergaard bobblehead boxes were very large. At best, with my large backpack and Marshalls bag all I could fit was about 14. I rarely and I mean rarely, go out of the stadium to empty my bags and re enter. It’s just not worth my time and I really don’t need 20-30 bobbles anymore.

Below is some pictures of some good sniping bags. The large backpack can be found on Amazon for under $23.00 and is well worth it. Plus you don’t have to carry it because it’s a fucking backpack! The Marshalls or TJ Maxx bags have funky designs on them. Some have flowers or Christmas quotes and what not. Bottom line, who gives a shit what it says. It’s there to serve a purpose and don’t think twice about looking cool with what your bag looks like. I’ve seen some top notch Snipers use a Marshalls bag and there were bright colored flowers on it. Remember, it does’t fucking matter “what” it looks like. And better yet, when you go to Marshalls or TJ Maxx, these bags will cost you $1.00 to buy. Yes, one dollar!

Overall, you don’t want a flashy bag as security always has an eye on everyone. If you carry one of these Marshalls bags and it’s full to the top, bring an extra sweatshirt or t-shirt and cover the top. The last thing you need is someone looking down and they see a shit ton of bobbles that are popping out of the top of your bag. Remember, the less attention the better. I’ve seen some shit where some cranky middle aged lady went up to security to point out a Sniper for having a bag full of bobbles and she bitched and moaned that she arrived late and didn’t get one. I’ve seen it happen and all that hard work can go away fast. Yes, I’ve seen security make people open their bags and they confiscated all but a few from the bag. The lesson here, cover the top of your bag.

Lastly, when entering the ballpark, fold the Marshall or TJ Maxx bag and put it in a side pocket of the large backpack. Don’t go through the gates holding 2 or 3 bags. Security will immediately question why you have so many bags on a bobblehead giveaway game. And now that the Mets are prohibiting backpacks as of today, I now have to go back to the drawing board and devise a new plan. If you’re a Sniper who attends Mets games I’ll have a solution for you in a few days. I need to think.

How and when to file a claim when you send a bobblehead that arrives damaged

When shipping a bobblehead, the last thing you want is to have a buyer tell you it arrived damaged. It’s the worse feeling in the world. I trust that all you Snipers package your bobbles very securely but often times the USPS worker throws and kicks the box you sent like a FIFA soccer player. There’s really nothing you can do to control it but unfortunately it happens.

I recently shipped a bobblehead off of Ebay to a buyer in California. I packaged it super fucking tight and when he showed me the damage to the box I went ape shit. I knew god damn well the postal workers had a soccer game with the box as there was dents and rips all over it. So the next step to do is hold USPS accountable for their laziness.

Go to USPS.com and click on the option to “File a Claim”. This is sort of a pain in the ass process and they do it on purpose because in the end they lose money which they don’t want. Next, there’s options to post pictures of the damage to both the bobblehead and the box. You need to have the pictures or you won’t get a refund! Describe what you sent, upload pictures of both the box and the damaged bobblehead. Next, you have to show the proof of the payment the buyer sent you. In my situation, the buyer paid through PayPal. I took a screen shot of the payment he sent ($115.00) and I uploaded that too.

You eventually, click “Submit” and the claim is finished. I got a letter in the mail 4 days later stating that the value USPS determined was $100.00. The buyer paid me $115.00 so I’m assed out of $15.00. Oh well, it’s better than zero. I received a check from the United States Postal Services for $100.00 and end of story.

Like I said, it really is a pain in the ass process but it’s worth it. Hold those fuckers accountable for treating your box you shipped like a rag doll. Here’s a picture of the letter I was sent after I filed the claim.

How to grow a bobblehead collection when you’re in high school or college

Over the past few years I’ve gotten a ton of questions asking how to start a bobblehead collecting if in High School or college. Many of us our grown adults who have jobs can afford bobbleheads but a lot of you young Snipers are still young bucks who don’t have the scratch to buy bobbleheads. And that’s okay.

Being in High School or college you have so MANY opportunities that you don’t even realize. The biggest advantage you have is you are not in school in the summertime. Sniping bobbleheads at games where most are given out happen during the summer months. I would hope you guys have summer jobs and that you are not working at night. Gather your buddies, and score some cheap tickets for $6.00 to a Minor League game. If you’re into the passion of collecting, I highly doubt your boys are invested as much as you. Offer to buy them a ticket, by them a hot dog or beer if 21 and hopefully you can obtain 3-4 right there. If your buddies are dicks and won’t give one up for you, then you gotta Snipe. Bring a bunch of small bills and go Sniping. I won’t get into Sniping as you should have already read my Blueprint for bobble sniping. Also, if your buddies don’t wanna burn a Tuesday night at a Minor League game, this is where family comes in. Cut your neighbors fucking grass for $20.00 and buy a few tickets. Bring your pops, mom or siblings. Your parents won’t want their bobblehead and if your little sister is being a stinker, let her have it and take it out of her room the following morning.

Being in High School or college your swag and confidence are at an all time high. You have no responsibilities and nothing to lose. Literally nothing to lose! You have your whole life ahead of you. If someone turns you down at a game while trying to Snipe, move the fuck on and go to someone else. Minor League games are your best bet as opposed to MLB games because tickets and parking are much more expensive. If you can go to a bunch of Minor League games and snipe a bunch now you have the leverage to either sell or trade for other bobbles you want. And that’s how you grow your collection.

In conclusion, once you establish a bunch of Minor League bobbles your collection will grow and grow. It takes time but you have your young age working with you and not against you. Your a young buck and have the rest of your life to develop a killer collection.

On a side note, if you are enrolled at a University, check and see if they have any bobble games and go to those. The last thing college students want is a bobblehead. Gather your boys on your dorm room floor and go to the game and grab theirs. College games that give away bobbles are hard to find because they mostly give them to students so the general public suffers. You can make some serious bank if you Snipe a ton. Lastly, stay in touch with your High School bro’s who attend other University’s and check if they are giving away any bobbles. If they are, beg your friends to bring a bunch of guys to the game and have them Snipe for you.

What do you really expect to pay for an SGA Bobblehead?

Many people have very different views on what they should pay for a brand new SGA bobblehead. I think there’s a big misconception that I have to address. I know the availability and rarity can factor into the price but there’s one thing MANY don’t realize. The person who goes to the game has to pay for the following 2 things.

  1. Ticket
  2. Parking

I won’t even factor in food or drink because that’s on them on how they wanna spend their money. Also, calculating tolls that’s another thing on them.

So if you take into a count that a ticket at least can cost $15.00 and parking varies but I’ll be generous and say $5.00, so that’s $20.00 bones right there. So, is it outrageous to think $25.00-$40.00 is fair? Yes, I know we all Snipe and get extras so a ticket and parking fee shouldn’t be accounted for. I am the first to say wait for a good price but if you factor in the ticket cost and parking, any bobble priced between $25.00 and $40.00 is reasonable. Now, for example, a CHEAP ticket for a Mets or Yankee game can run you $30.00 alone! And parking at Citi Field is $25.00 by itself. So now you have Joe Blow who went to a Mets game and spent $55.00 right off the bat and you expect to pay in the mid 20’s for a bobble?

It’s a fucked up topic to discuss and there’s a shit ton of ways of looking at it. I’ll hit you with another one. The Tampa Bay Cy Zilla bobble of Blake Snell. A cheap ticket to that game at most can be $10.00 and I have no clue what parking is like. Let’s go and say they parked on the street and paid a meter $4.00 for 4 hours to park. So that’s $14.00 to get in the door and receive a bobble. That Cy Zilla is going for $23.00 on Ebay with free shipping. So if someone went to that game,  paid $14.00 for a ticket and a parking meter and is selling the bobble for $23.00 with free shipping and let’s say it ran them $8.00 to ship, that seller is profiting $1.00.

Overall, the realization of what we think is a fair price to pay for a SGA is highly debatable. There’s your time and effort that factor’s into your selling price. But looking at it from a “buying” standpoint, prices are actually very accurate on Ebay right when an SGA comes out. The entire point of this blog is to basically show you that paying $25.00-$40.00 is not unrealistic. You have to factor in what the person had to do and what he or she paid. Always remember that.

P.S.- I’ll save the theory of one who goes to a game and Snipes 18 bobbles and charges something totally different. That’s for another blog down the road as we all try and profit one way or another.

The biggest mistake you can do when trading/buying bobbleheads directly through PayPal

I’m writing this blog to not only inform you about trading and buying, but recently, I’ve had several Snipers that have gotten ripped off and it’s intolerable.

Within the passion of collecting bobbles, we trade and buy offline. I’m a huge fan of trading. I can’t make it to California and Minnesota to Snipe so I trade. Everyone trades and buys off of Ebay. It’s part of collecting and it ultimately helps everyone out. Now, there’s a HUGE trust factor when buying and trading. Let me break this down. When you buy from Ebay, you’re covered regardless. When you directly send money through PayPal and use “Friends and Family” you are not covered if something arrives damaged or the item isn’t even sent! When sending money through PayPal using “Goods and Services” you are covered if anything bad happens. Yes, using Goods and Services you pay an extra small fee which is worth it just in case.

Recently, a few Snipers set up several deals to buy some bobbles from a seller on Instagram. They made a mistake. They paid through Friends and Family and the seller never sent the bobbles. They got juked out of their money. The dude won’t even respond to messages. Now, when I first started trading and buying directly through PayPal, I always used a simple method. When I trade with someone we BOTH box, bubble wrap and print out labels. Once a picture of both shipping labels are sent to each other, then we hand it off to the mail carrier. This way, we both know that the bobbles are shipped. Now, when I send someone money and I don’t really know you, I send funds through Good and Services so my ass is covered. NEVER and I mean NEVER send money through PayPal using Friends and Family if you don’t know the person. This shit is happening way too much and people are getting ripped off.

When you deal on some Facebook groups they typically have a Good to Go (G2G) list in which the person is reliable. That is something you can trust 98% of the time. Instagram has recently developed a large buying and selling community and some of the sellers are not trustworthy. I personally have developed such a trust factor with so many other Snipers that I rarely have to worry about getting scammed. But for most of you, you have to use Goods and Services. You just can’t trust people that you don’t know in this day an age. It’s worth playing the extra $2.00-$3.00 so you’re covered. Lastly, I would even be a stickler and ask the person to box, bubble wrap and print out label prior to sending any money. Many sellers will not approve of this but it’s worth asking. And whenever a seller on social media says please pay through Friends and Family, recognize that something isn’t right.

Protect yourself when trading and sending money directly through PayPal. You work too damn hard to make a living and the last thing you need in your life is to get fucking scammed by some dip shit trying to make an extra buck.

The Dodgers are suing P2 Promotions for backing out of manufacturing Tommy Lasorda bobbleheads

So I got a bunch of messages from a ton of Snipers throughout the day regarding the Dodgers suing P2 Promotions for not delivering and or making the promised Tommy Lasorda bobbleheads being given away later this season. TMZ first reported this at 10:48 am PDT. I did some digging and found out that this P2 Promotions company is super shady. First and foremost, the Dodgers have been going back and for with manufacturers for several years now. BDA has manufactured most of them but ever since the Dodgers had the idea to come out with 15 plus bobbles a year, BDA backed off a little because they manufacture soooooooo many bobbles per year for a shit load of teams other than the Dodgers. There’s frankly not enough man power in the China factories to manufacture every single Dodgers bobblehead and to make matters worse, make 20,000+ for every giveaway.

This is where P2 Promotions comes into the mix. They are a company out Canby, Oregon and I’ll be quite honest; they make terrible bobbles. Since BDA only committed to a handful of Dodgers bobbles this year, the promotions department for the Dodgers hired P2 Promotions to do the rest. Now, last year the Dodgers did not give out quality bobbles. Many chips, cracks and paint smudges all over the place and that is the result of P2 Promotions making them. Take a look at a few pictures of bobbles that P2 Promotions manufactured last year that were not the best of quality.

Anytime you see the bottom of a box that reads, “Made in China” This item is not a toy figurine is for decorative use only” you can bet your bottom dollar P2 Promotions manufactured it. In addition, they don’t even have the balls to put their company name on it. Now take a look at some BDA bobbles from last year that had MUCH better quality.

Without question, BDA creates much better quality bobbleheads than P2 Promotions. Ever since I read the article regarding the Lasorda bobbles this morning, I put two and two together. P2 Promotions manufactures any bobble for the Dodgers that doesn’t have the BDA logo on the bottom of the box.

Now, I can’t determine why P2 Promotions backed out of making the Lasorda bobbles. No clue. Many things could have happened. I would assume the Dodgers are suing for $175,000 because P2 Promotions broke their contract. I don’t blame the Dodgers one bit. It’s a really fucked up thing to do in the business world. I also know that many fans don’t understand how long and tedious it is to manufacture 25,000 bobbleheads. It takes months and months to create the mold, design and hand paint! I also know that MLB teams have to place their orders almost a year in advance and especially when they required to make 25k of them.

In conclusion, the Dodgers are somewhat to blame here. Stick to one fucking company and stay true to giving out 5-8 bobblehead per year tops! Enough with this 18+ bobble giveaways. I don’t blame BDA one fucking bit that they told the Dodgers we can’t manufacture all 18 of your bobbleheads. BDA is a top 3 manufacture for bobbleheads within the country and they do a lot of teams. Bottom line, enough is enough with so many bobbles. Remember, the point of a bobblehead giveaway is to bring a huge audience into your stadium to fill the seats. Then, the MLB team generates revenue that exceeds the cost of a bobble giveaway through parking, concessions and alcohol. This problem would 100% be avoided if the Dodgers gave out way less bobbles than they do.

Here’s a picture of the owner of P2 Promotions. Don Pierce. If you have beef, take it up with him. I am actually now thinking that P2 Promotions did the Dodgers and us bobblehead collectors a favor by backing out. It most likely would have turned out to be of shit quality anyway.
