When you score a bobble for your personal collection, does the value matter?

When you score a bobble for your personal collection, does the value matter?

If you’re keeping it, why would it matter? Unless your flipping it, the value shouldn’t matter. Or, are you thinking long term and eventually going to sell off your collection, then the value WOULD matter. I know a lot of collector’s that ask me how much this or that bobblehead is worth. Sometimes they have a pretty rare one and I give them an accurate value and they jump over joy! Okay, good. I next ask them what they are going to do with it. 90% of the time they say they’re keeping it for their personal collection. So why the fuck ask me how much it’s worth? To feel better about it?

Value should only matter when you’re selling a bobble. I guess you can feel good about yourself if you have a lot of valuable bobbles in your collection, but if you’re keeping them for the long run, why does it matter?

Is “racking” at a bobblehead game really all that it’s cracked up to be?

Is “racking” at a bobblehead game really all that it’s cracked up to be?

For those of you who don’t know what the term “racking” is within the bobblehead game, here’s a brief explanation. When you go to a SGA bobble game and you Snipe a ton of bobbles and I mean a ton. Not 10, not 15, not 20, I mean like 30-50.  A whole rack of bobbleheads that fills your entire trunk, is “racking”. There’s less than a dozen collector’s that I know of who legitimately “rack” on a consistent basis. This takes a piss load of time and a shit ton of hustle. It’s an absolute grind the entire game.

Now the question is, whether you can “rack” or not, how important is it? Is it super important to walk back to your car with 40 bobbleheads, or is 15 just fine? A lot of Ebay and Facebook sellers (pre-sell) bobbles a lot, so getting enough to cover your pre-sales is a must. I’m very cautious when pre-selling as I want to be prepared if anything bad happens at the game. I for one, do not like pre-selling a lot of bobbles before a game just as a precaution. And personally, I don’t need 40 bobbleheads. 40-50 bobbleheads is fucking great, but I just don’t have the room in the bobble cave. I’m already up to my nut sack down there and racking 40 something bobbles will just add more of a headache. I don’t give a shit how much they are worth on the open market, but 12-18 is perfectly fine for me.

I had my days 6-8 years ago where I couldn’t see out my back window because of so many bobbles. Those days are long gone. Time, family and just way to many bobbles in the cave put an immediate end to that. And I’m happy with it.

Why is the KC Royals mascot’s name spelled so fucking stupid?

Can someone tell me why the Royals mascot’s name is spelled so dumb? According to the world wide fucking web called the internet, it’s spelled “Sluggerrr”, with 2 extra stupid r’s. The proper and correct way to spell his name is Slugger according to me. Plain and simple. I know why management added the 2 extra r’s at the end as they wanted to exaggerate the extra rrrrrrumble since he’s a fucking lion and lions roar. But here’s the real reason why I think it’s stupid and why it pisses me off so much.

Bobblehead purposes. If you go and search for the KC Royals mascot bobblehead on Ebay, 8/10 people don’t know how to spell it correctly and therefore, not all Slugger bobbleheads appear on the search page of Ebay. Don’t believe me? Go ahead and search Sluggerrr on Ebay and then search Slugger. All different ones show up on each search. It’s a pain in the ass and it SHOULD be spelled Slugger. Period.

Am I alone on this? Exit velocity…who gives a shit

The past 2 year ESPN talks a lot about “Exit Velocity” on television when someone hits a homerun.  We all know that exit velocity measures the speed of the ball as it comes off the bat, but does it really matter how fast a baseball leaves the ballpark? Who gives a shit how hard a ball is hit. If you get the right pitch and slam the shit out of it, ya it’s gonna go out fast.

ESPN loves using these analitical terms since it’s 2018 and given the fact that the station has gone down the shitter the past 6 years, they need to talk about something “new age”.

For example, Aaron Judge hits a missile and all the announcers get a huge chubby on how fast the ball came off his bat. Big fucking deal. ESPN also thinks they are sooooo intelligent too. Do you know how to calculate “exit velocity”?  The computer geeks have devices that measures how fast the baseball is hit from the bat until it lands. That’s probably where all the big bucks are going from ESPN to find out the exit velocity of a fucking HR.

It’s a really stupid term to get the average fan a boner regarding how fast a ball is hit. Bottom line, a hit is a hit and a Homerun is a Homerun. Once a year the National Spelling Bee airs on ESPN, so does a contestant get rated on a how fast an expressive response is when spelling a word? No. So who really gives a shit when Arod or Jessica on Sunday Night Baseball asks “Hey, what was the velo on that hit?”

In the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t mean dick and ESPN is desperately trying to reach the attention of their audience. It’s pathetic and it’s not working.

Here’s a hard hit single by Stanton. He hit it hard. Real hard. Can we move on? It’s a hard hit single. No need to calculate exit velocity.

How to save $$$ right after a new SGA Bobblehead comes out

How to save $$$ when a new SGA bobblehead comes out.

We all know we can’t attend every single game to score a new SGA. Unless you know someone who’s going or you’re trading with some other collector, prices can get up there. So what’s the easiest solution? Ebay of course. But do you ever wonder when hitting up Ebay that the price of a brand new SGA is super expensive? Prices are always high right off the bat for a new bobble, but let me inform you on something as this is a VERY SIMPLE CONCEPT.

Those of you who have been with me since day one knows that I preach patience. Patience, patience, patience. Brand new SGA’s ALWAYS decrease over time. It may take a few weeks or even a year but the price will eventually drop. If there are only a limited amount being given out, you may disregard my advice and go ahead and pay a steep fee for it. But if there’s 10k to 20k made, then wait. Bobbleheads aren’t going anywhere. They will always be available and for the giveaways that hand out a lot, the price will drop.

Take a look at the Syndergaard Marvel “Thor” bobblehead last year the Mets handed out. They started at $120.00 and even went up to $175.00 in price. Do yourself a favor and go on Ebay after reading this and you’ll scoop one up for $75.00. Price are inflated because it’s a “brand new” hot off the pallet from China. Now, if you’re impatient and have the money, then fuck it and buy it. But if you follow the rule of being patient, you’ll save your wallet a lot of damage. Just imagine if you save anywhere between $10.00 to $20.00 per bobblehead if you wait and multiple that by 15 bobbles, you’ll save over $220.00 per season.

Just be patient.

Aaron Jedi Judge Bobblehead Yankee Stadium recap

So I’ve never actually been to a Yankee game to Snipe bobbleheads. I’ve only been to the new Yankee Stadium once and that was a long time ago. I didn’t truly want to go but this was a bobblehead I couldn’t pass up. You all know from the video I posted last week on Instagram, that I did get my hands on a prototype of Jedi Judge, but I wanted more. You also know I’m a Red Sox fan and I can’t stand the Yankees but I wasn’t there for the game. I knew this would be a bloodbath of a Snipe. I was thinking about it all week and how miserable it would be and I was right. Again.

The train ride was easy getting in. Of course everyone on the train had to hear 3-5 drunk assholes yelling all over the place as the season is only 30 games in. Typical Yankee train behavior. Not surprised here.

Once I got out, I could just smell the dirty New York air. The terminal leading up to the gates was cluttered but expected, as there’s 56,000 people trying to get in to watch a ball game.

The lines to get in were long but they moved quick. The way the lines are setup it’s not just one long boner line, as it’s bunch of zig zags like a fucking maze. Very annoying and cluttered which bothered me. The stadium is brand fucking new and they couldn’t have designed it more fan friendly?

I scanned my ticket and was handed a bobble at roughly 6:15pm and there were plenty left. There was a good 8-10 boxes not even opened yet.

The bottom section of the main entrance is very depressing. The floors were dirty and a shit ton of security guards eyeing every person who entered.

Right after that, I muscled upstairs to the 2nd level and walked around a bit to get feel of the layout. Soon after, I started my calculated sniping system and before I knew it, I was in the handicap stall squeezing 9 bobbles into the lower portion of my bag.

As the night went on, people were holding their Jedi Judge bobbles tighter and tighter. I did see about 8-10 collector’s trying to hustle the crowd. Some tactics worked and some didn’t. After 19 total bobbles were Sniped, I ran out of room and called it a night. Enough was enough.

The shady shit I was referring in my Instagram post were as follow.

I saw 2 bobbleheads underneath seats from the back row of a section. They were exposed, but they belonged to a husband and wife who were in their seats watching the game. I saw a guy with a red backpack standing behind them as they have a sign on the floor that says, “Stand behind this line”. Someone on the Yankees got a base hit and everyone stood up and cheered and the guy in backpack stole the bobbles from underneath the seats and walked away swiftly. What a scum bag. And before you ask, I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to create a scene and I don’t like to chit chat when I’m sniping.

The next shady thing that happened occurred in the beer line. I was thirsty as fuck so I wanted to get a cold crafty. So I was behind 4 guys in the beer line. The guy ordering placed his bobble on there counter as he paid. He walked away with “double fisted” beers and left his bobble there by accident. Within seconds, another guy with a white backpack standing off to the side swiped it and walked away. Dirty mother fucker right? No one in line noticed it but me, but once again I keep silent.

Other than that I couldn’t stand the Guido’s with the gold chains and steroid muscles screaming all drunk and cursing, while little kids were around. Ya, I know it’s a ball game but grow the fuck up a little. I also noticed a small scuffle on the 1st floor between two Spanish guys and had no idea what they were saying. They were just screaming at each and it was unpleasant to witness.

But overall, the mission was successful and I just flat out hated the whole environment. Even when you walk through a crowd and someone bumps you by accident, no one says “Excuse me” or they just give you a dirty look. I wasn’t surprised at all. It’s New York. The scum of the earth in my opinion. People are rude, they don’t have manners and it’s a filthy place to watch a ball game. You’d never see these types of behaviors at Fenway Park. Never.

I got on the train, put my headphones on and enjoyed the ride home. The first thing I did was take a shower when I got home to get off all the New York grease and filth.

If you’re a New Yorker and a Yankee fan and are reading this, I still love ya, but I cannot for the life of me enjoy Yankee Stadium. I took one aerial view and the entire stadium was full to capacity. Not one empty seat.

It’s not an easy place to Snipe at all, but I came out on top…once again. Fuck the lion’s den. The Jedi Judge bobble is definitely a must have. Success Promotions did a stand up job with this one and especially getting all 40,000 to Yankee Stadium on time!

P.S. I forgot to mention one other thing that really pissed me off. It was the bottom of the 6th inning and the beer lines were super long. Some jacked up meat head with tats is at the end of one line and cups his hand to his mouth and yells out, “Let’s fuuuucking gooooooooo already!” Everyone looked at him and he loved it because he craved the attention. I hope I see that guy again at Yankee Stadium and he catches a foul ball to his grill and looses a few whites.
