Bobble of the Day “Tom Seaver”

Bobble of the Day

Player: Tom Seaver

Team: New York Mets

Year: 2016

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

Those who ever saw Seaver pitch know how really good he was. After all, he’s know as “The Franchise” for god’s sake. A fastball that consistently came at batter’s at 94+ mph on a consistent basis. All of the stud pitchers on the current Mets can all learn something from “Terrific Tom” as he was one of the All-Time greats.

This bobble was exclusively sold at Citi Field and it sold out quick! The first thing that stands out is the “old school” retro uniform Seaver is wearing. I love it when the Mets have their bobbles display the vintage uni’s as they stand out that much more. His stance on this bobble is pretty dope as he looks like he’s hurling a 3-2 fastball that hits 95mph. The facial features are on point and the back base has his name and the Mets logo all over it. The base itself is pretty standard as Seaver is standing on replicate dirt. I know his name is on the back wall of the bobble but I would have liked to see his name in raised letters on the front of the base. Another added feature is the Cooperstown Hall of Fame emblem on the front of the base which is fresh as hell. Lastly, the MLB patch stands out a lot on his right throwing arm which I dig a lot.

Sniper Rating: This 2016 model of Mr. Seaver is a nice addition to a growing collection. It’s got a lot of character of one of the Mets All-Time greats, nevertheless one of baseball’s greats. I personally think this belongs in your collection even if you’re a youngin who didn’t get a chance to see “Terrific Tom” throw a baseball. Get this one and display it proudly as Tom Seaver scores a solid 8.5 rating.

Bobble of the Day “Charles Woodson”

Bobble of the Day

Player: Charles Woodson

Team: Michigan Wolverines

Year: 2016

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

Charles Woodson is the man. He was nasty when he played in college at Michigan and he was nasty when he played in the NFL. The dude can straight ball. Even though he just retired from the NFL, he’s still involved in the game as an ESPN analyst.

So let’s discuss this bobble a bit. First of all it’s very exclusive as only 158 were made. It’s part of a “College Legends” series for top notch players who balled in the NCAA. The obvious thing is his stance is imitating the “Heisman” pose that he won back when he was a Wolverine in 1997. Many people don’t realize that he beat Peyton Manning for the Heisman that year which is pretty fucking bad ass in itself. The uniform is very detailed showing off the blue and yellow colors of Michigan. I dig the black cleats as it meshes well with the all-black base. Granted the lettering of his name and number on the back of the jersey could have been “raised lettering” , I don’t think it takes away to much appeal from this bobble. FOCO put in a little extra effort by putting the “M” for Michigan on the top left pant leg which is a cool add on. I thought I wouldn’t, but I actually like the name plate on the front of the base. All it says is “Charles Woodson” and “Michigan 1997” but that’s all it needs. Simple, simple, simple. I consider this a professional bobble. Not too much spunk, but enough to know that this is an extreme ”exclusive” bobble that belongs in EVERYONE’S curio cabinet.

Sniper Rating: Any fan of college football or the NFL NEEDS to have this. Woodson is arguably one of the best cornerbacks/safety’s to ever play the game. There’s only one other Michigan bobble of Woodson (Rose Bowl Edition) so the exclusiveness of this one is in high demand. All signs point to this bobble of Charles Woodson in his Heisman pose as a sure fire 10.0.

Thanksgiving Bobble of the Day “Mr. Met”

Bobble of the Day

Mascot: Mr. Met (Thanksgiving)

Team: New York Mets

Year: 2015 (Bobble of the Month)

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

Mr. Met Thanksgiving “Bobble of the Day”! Did you expect anything else on Thanksgiving? Who doesn’t like Thanksgiving? It’s a great time to see family, shove your face with food and watch NFL foots. I’m so glad during the 2015 series of the Bobble of the Month, that the Mets did a Thanksgiving theme. An American tradition like no other.

First and foremost is Mr. Met is dressed like a pilgrim with the brown top hat and his brown top and bottom. He’s holding a turkey getting ready to carve it and to me it looks like a solid 20 pounder. Not only does the head bobble (obviously) but his left left arm as he’s holding what looks to be a silver fork. A lot of detail went into this one and FOCO needs some praise. The base is a shiny chrome color with raised lettering as it says, “Thanksgiving”. I’m pleased they put Thanksgiving on the front as opposed to Mr. Met because it’s Turkey day after all!

Sniper Rating: This is one year in which you can bust this bad boy out. The Sniper is hosting Thanksgiving today as I have a full house of 18 people coming by. This will definitely be displayed as everyone needs to see it. Once Thanksgiving is over, it goes right back into the Curio Cabinet until next year. If you happen to have this one, take it out, show it off and appreciate and be thankful that you can celebrate this holiday with family, friends and your Mr. Met Thanksgiving Day bobblehead.

Overall, I dig this one a lot but I’d would have liked to see maybe some pumpkins or cranberry sauce sitting on top of the base. I guess I’m being picky but that’s what I do. I review bobbles and I want more! Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving Snipers and Mr. Met in his pilgrim outfit gets a 9.0.

Bobble of the Day “Corey Seager”

Bobble of the Day

Player: Corey Seager

Team: Rancho Cucamonga Quakes

Year: 2015

Manufacturer: Promotional Adventures

One of the rising stars in all of baseball, Mr. Corey Seager. This dude has been an absolute star in the making and the Quakes did this right by handing out a bobble of him back on June 13th, 2015. The first 1,500 fans through the gates were handed a bobble of the now “Rookie of the Year” for the Dodgers.

Big collector’s, including myself get caught up in uniqueness and how flashy a company makes a bobblehead. If you take a step back and just appreciate the simple style of a bobblehead, you’ll have a better understanding how valuable one can be. This bobble doesn’t blow the shingles off the fucking roof by any means. It’s a simple stance of Corey Seager in his Quakes uniform with a bat on his shoulder. Boring right? No. No by any means. I don’t like it, I LOVE it. It’s simple. There’s no flashy, crazy design to it. He’s not sliding or diving for a ground ball. He’s just standing there and I love everything about it. To me, it just looks professional. No glamour. Just straight to the point. And by all accounts, it’s of a great player.

The base is thick and is outlined with a green strip and has a dirt layer on the top replicating he’s standing in the batter’s box. The blue cleats look dope and his belt and undershirt and helmet all match the color blue. The lettering on the base, his name and number on the back of the jersey and the Quakes logo on the front of his jersey is all raised lettering. No short cuts on this one as Promotional Adventures did a very good job. Lastly, instead of just making a round face with no detail which most SGA’s look like, Promotional Adventures put in some lines which resemble some facial features which adds character to this bobble.

Sniper Rating: So this SGA of Seager is highlighted by him winning the 2014 California League MVP award and deservingly so. The honor of winning a Minor League award is incredible in itself, let alone the mother fucking MVP award! I love the light blue colors on the box as it completely offsets the navy blue colors on his helmet and uniform. On this bobble, simple is better. Straight to the point with a simple stance, a simple base with no flashy design. I love everything about this one and it deserves nothing less than a 9.5 overall rating.

PS. The only knock might quite possibly be the sponsor “LoanMart”. What the fuck is LoanMart? I’d love to see that emblem sponsor be changed to a “Pepsi” or “Coca Cola” sign. Now that would be killer.

Bobble of the Day “Dwayne Wade”

Bobble of the Day

Player: Dwayne Wade

Team: Miami Heat

Year: 2006

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

A lot of NBA fans across the board hate such and such players. A few might say, Lebron, KG, Boogie Cousins, Carmelo and the list goes on. No one ever hates or roots against Dwayne Wade. No one. He’s just that type of player who is very likable no matter what team he plays on.

Anyway, this bobble is cool as hell as it’s highlighting D-Wade as a 2X NBA Champion and the 2006 Finals MVP award. First and foremost, I love how they kept D-Wade in his all black uniform. It just looks total badass as it mixes well with his black sneakers and black socks. Of course he’s holding the 2 NBA Championship trophies which are shiny gold and the one on the base is the 06 Finals MVP trophy. I would have loved if this was a 10 inch bobble as it would stand out like CRAZY! The base is pretty unique as it’s in the shape of geometrical design. The colors are spot on with the burnt yellow mixed in with the maroon which is dope.

Sniper Rating: You don’t see this D-Wade to often and they sold out pretty damn fast. If you covered the name on the front of the base you can easily tell it’s Dwayne Wade. FOCO did a nice job with the detail in his facial features. I personally consider this a must have in your collection even if your not a Heat fan. Like I stated above, EVERYONE likes D-Wade. What’s not to like? He’s a future Hall of Famer, he’s had a ton of success and he works hard. Not to mention he’s got a smokestack wife that he goes home to every night. The Flash scores a solid 9.5 on this hard to come by bobblehead.

Bobble of the Day “Brett Favre” 50,000 Yards

Bobble of the Day

Player: Brett Favre

Team: Green Bay Packers

Year: 2012

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

The first thing that stands out on this Favre bobble is the size. It’s a rare 18 incher and it’s huge. Only 100 of these were made and were locally sold in Milwaukee exclusively. I happened to score this from a dealer in Wisconsin and it didn’t come cheap.

On this bobble, Favre is celebrated by throwing for 50,000 yards which nowadays is no big deal as it seems like every Quarterback that has played for 10 plus years accomplishes this task. What makes this bobble so dope is the fact that the lettering of 50k yards is right in front and you can’t miss it. Since it’s so big it comes apart and you literally have to needle it into the small holes. I feel like I was putting together a fucking Lego set cause this thing is so big.

I love the stance FOCO made for Favre as it shows the gunslinger ready to throw a fucking seed to one of his wide outs. The uniform is very detailed with green and white stripes down the pant legs as well as the sleeves of the jersey.

Sniper Rating: Overall, for an 18 inch bobble this one is definitely cool, not only because it’s big, but it’s of Brett Favre, a Green Bay Packer legend. But seriously, if you have the room and you can get your hands on this one then do it. It’s a true crowd pleaser when you have your bro’s over and watching them grill it up and down gives me the goose bumps. Mr. Favre and his 50,000 yard bobble gets a 8.5.
