Bobble of the Day “Jerry Rice”

Bobble of the Day

Player: Jerry Rice

Team: San Francisco 49’ers

Year: 2016

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

Jerry Rice ladies and gentleman. It’s about time FOCO did another 49er bobble of the best wideout in NFL history. To this day, I haven’t heard one negative thing spoken about this guy. He’s got class like no other.

I did a blog about Bo Jackson a few weeks back and this bobble is very similar. The raised white letters look sharp as fuck against the 49er red color base. Directly on top of the base sports a photo of Jerry catching a pass. I dig the multiple colors on the uni as white, gold, black and red are splattered all over the place. The facial features are spot on and what makes this bobble is the earrings. Jerry was known to rock the earrings and FOCO made it a point to throw them on his ears. Well done Foco.

Sniper Rating: The pose Jerry is displaying on this bobble is epic. He just caught a pass and is literally running up the seam for a 80 yard TD. You don’t need me to tell you how important this one is to put in your collection. Jerry Rice bobbles in his 49er uniform are hard to come by and are super rare. This one right now is not rare, but over the years it will become VERY hard to track down. Get this one while it’s $30.00. Jerry scores a 9.5.

Bobble of the Day “Aaron Rodgers”

Bobble of the Day

Player: Aaron Rodgers

Team: Green Bay Packers

Year: 2010

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

No one can argue that Rodgers has the best God given talent in the NFL. He can make any throw, especially on the run and he can scramble. If I was starting a franchise and had to pick a QB to start, I would pick Rodgers.

With that being said, here we have Mr. Rodgers in his 2010 Super Bowl win after beating the Steelers 31-25. I really dig this series of Packer bobbles as the base is fresh as hell with the bright yellow and dark green colors. On the front of the base, it has Rodger’s first name with raised letters which is a win in itself. The Super Bowl ring is a shiny silver color with the Packers logo right in front. The majority of the base is Packer yellow with “Super Bowl Champions” lettering on top.

Sniper Rating: The uniform is pretty standard along with the leg and elbow pads. The facial features are spot on and of course Rodgers is holding the pigskin. Overall, even though he only has one title under his belt, this is a must have in your collection. The longer he plays the more value this bobble will hold. Without a doubt, Mr. Rodgers and his 2010 Super Bowl ring base bobble scores a 9.0.

Bobble of the Day “Tom Brady”

Bobble of the Day

Player: Tom Brady

Team: New England Patriots

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

Yup another Brady bobble. Yup, he’s that good. And if you live under a rock and don’t know, he’s playing in his millionth Super Bowl this upcoming Sunday.

So this is his Super Bowl XLIX ring base bobblehead and it’s covered from head to toe with features.  The base is outlined in multiple colors which are white, navy blue and red. Brady’s name has raised letters and the ring is right between his feet, dead smack in the middle. The Patriot’s logo covers the entire top of the base which is an awesome feature.

This one in particular has Brady in a blue jersey but the rest of the team is wearing white jerseys from the set. Why make a variant jersey color? Kind of overkill don’t ya think? But of course I had to get it and I’m pretty sure the blue jersey bobble was a limited run of only a few hundred.

Sniper Rating: Brady’s uniform is pretty detailed with the shiny silver pants and leg and shoulder pads. What Brady bobble would not be complete if he wasn’t holding the pigskin? Overall, you can’t go wrong with any Brady bobble whether you hate him or not. This Super Bowl XLIX ring based bobble scores a 8.5.

Bobble of the Day “David Robinson”

Bobble of the Day

Player: David Robinson

Team: San Antonio Spurs

Year: 2003

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

The fucking Admiral man. Who doesn’t remember David Robinson? With him and Tim Duncan being the twin towers, they were literally an unstoppable force down low. David might be one of the nicest, well mannered NBA player to ever enter the league.

This bobble sits at a standard 7 inches and is sharp as a tack. The lettering of Robinson’s name is raised which I love and is in a silver color. The white emblem on the corner of the base reads, “ NBA CHAMPIONS 2003” which is a terrific feature. The uniform is basic white with silver and black colors outlining the jersey and shorts. The trophy shines like the sun as the Admiral is holding it like a boss.

Sniper Rating: One of the main reasons why I dig this bobble so much is the fact that the facial features look just like Robinson. Well done FOCO as you guys did not cut any corners and made it a point to throw on the mustache. One of the hardest bobbles to add to your collection from the 2003 Champions series, this Robinson is a must have but will come with a hefty price tag on the secondary market. Without question the Admiral scores a 9.0 rating.

Bobble of the Day “Noah Syndergaard”

Bobble of the Day

Player: Noah Syndergaard

Team: New York Mets

Year: 2016

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

So here’s the famous Syndergaard 2 Homerun game bobblehead that many collectors have been waiting for. Noah seems to obviously a fan favorite amongst Mets fan but a lot of Marvel fans love him to. Why wouldn’t they right? He’s got the “Thor” looking hair thats blonde, he’s a big dude size wise, he throws 101 on the gun and he hits fucking bombs.

So Thor hit 2 homers versus the Dodgers on May 5th 2016 at Dodgers stadium. We all know how rare it is to hit just one bomb for a pitcher per year, never mind 2 jacks in one game. I’m glad FOCO decided to highlight this accomplishment as it 100% deserves it.

This bobble has more detail than a 2017 Red Ferrari. It’s insane. Let’s start off with the box. Just like Bartolo Colon’s “Bobble Belly” the box is huge and has photo’s of Thor on 2 sides. The box has 2 velcro stripes that leads to a see through window of the bobble which is a dope feature. The Mets logo is dead smack on top of the box and overall has excellent color.

The base is designed in a “Newspaper” format which has a fresh looking photo of Thor following through on a homerun swing. The top left side of the base reads,” Syndergaard Thunders 2 Homeruns in 1 Game. FOCO has been using the Newspaper design for their bases for a few years now and I don’t think they should stop, especially when it comes to exclusives.

Next, Thor’s stance is beast mode as he’s following through on one of his homers that game versus the Dodgers. I love the Thor hammer with the Mets logo and the orange cape laying loose down his back. It gives off a Marvel Comic feel and definitely gets collector’s very excited. He’s gotta be wearing his helmet as this is not a pitching bobblehead as it’s a batting bobble. The two white wings on each side of the helmet that bobble, brings a shit ton of character to this item. Lastly, FOCO nailed it with the long blond hair coming out of the back off his dome. Very authentic and natural look.

The backing which is the Mets logo completes this bobblehead. My only knock is some of the corners of the circular logo is peeling or chipped off.

Sniper Rating: This one of Thor is a must have and in addition, it stands at a enormous 12 inches. It may be difficult to sneak into your Curio Cabinet so let’s just hope every exclusive is not this big. Every once in awhile a 12 incher is warranted, but not for every exclusive. The bigger sized bobble also brings a hefty price tag as this one sits at $59.99. Its a steep price but one that must be obtained to add to your collection. Overall, FOCO nailed this one out of the park and Thor and his monstrous 2 Homerun game scores a 10.0.

Bobble of the Day “UNC Tarheel”

Bobble of the Day

Mascot: Tarheel

Team: University of North Carolina

Year: 2016

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

So recently, the Bobblehead Hall of Fame came out with a series of college basketball schools who have won multiple championships and decided to use the schools mascot for a bobblehead. Great idea by my friend Phil over at the Hall of Fame.

Today we will highlight the UNC Tarheels of North Carolina. This one is killer because I’ve always have loved the color baby blue on UNC. Even when Jordan played there, I love that color. Mr. Tarheel himself is standing on the UNC base while holding 2 of UNC’s 5 championships. That’s a shit load of titles to win never mind winning just one. The trophies are on the base are very sturdy and of high quality. Phil over at the Bobblehead Hall must be reading these Bobble of the Day blogs because there are raised letters of the school on the front of the base! Well done Phil. The letters are white and not half assed with stickers. The actual letters stick pretty far out than most which makes it a little more authentic.

The back side of the base displays the years’ UNC has one titles with the NCAA logo on the bottom.

Sniper Rating: The overall design on this one is spectacular. Everything from the trophies to the colors and the precise representation of the Tarheel mascot is boss. Lastly, these were only limited to just under 250 ever made so I would head over to the bobblehead hall website and scoop one up before they are all gone. UNC is in the top 3 college basketball programs year in and year out and this is definitely a must have in your collection.

Mr. Tarheel and his UNC limited edition bobblehead scores a perfect 10.0.
