Bobble of the Day “Joc Pederson”

Bobble of the Day

Player: Joc Pederson

Team: Los Angeles Dodgers

Year: 2017

Manufacturer: Unknown

Everybody loves Joc including me but sometimes I feel he needs to settle down a bit. I know the youthful thing is to always jump up and down and go crazy when your teammate scores a big run. There’s something about him though. He’s no Seager or even Turner, but think he thinks he’s better than he actually is. I really do like him but the attention seeking behavior gets to me on occasion.

On to the bobble now. This one is very sharp looking in terms of his follow through swing. Looks like he just hit a rope to left center field. I like how the manufacturer added his ankle guard as it gives it a real “authentic” look. The base is standard with his name in white against the Dodger blue background. The details within the uniform are classic Dodgers logo and lettering.

Sniper Rating: My only gripe about this bobble is the size of his head. It’s about a half an inch to wide. The manufacturer made the helmet a bit to big and it looks silly to say the least. The box has a nice “see through” look so you Dodger fans can see if its broken when it gets handed to you at the gate. Overall, good bobblehead but not great. Joc scores a 7.0

Bobble of the Day “Pete Rose”

Bobble of the Day

Player: Pete Rose

Team: Cincinnati Reds

Year: 2017

Manufacturer: Alexander Global Production

Listen, there’s a million Pete Rose bobbleheads out there and I think every single one should belong in your collection. His time after baseball is so controversial, it just makes him more of an attractive player to collect as far as bobbleheads go. This one that the Reds gave out is nothing short of great. Rose is commemorated by being inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame.

Mr. Rose is in his signature hitting stance which led him to over 4,000 collective hits. The base has his name in raised white letters against a red backdrop. On top of the base is a bronze colored finish and has “Reds Hall of Fame” inscribed in raised letters which adds a piss load of character. The old school Reds uni is flaunted by Pete in every way possible and I’m digging the facial features as it looks just like the Hit King.

Sniper Rating: The box is flooded with bright colors, has the glossy finish and has a few paragraphs written about his career. A well deserved accomplishment as you know I feel he belongs in Cooperstown. I personally own just about every Rose bobblehead and this one just adds to it. The Hit King and his Reds HOF bobble scores a 8.0.

Bobble of the Day “Marla Hooch”

Bobble of the Day

Player: Marla Hooch

Team: Akron Rubberducks

Year: 2017

Manufacturer: Destroyer Promotions

If you haven’t seen the movie “A League of their Own” then you’re an asshole. It’s classic baseball movie right up there with The Sandlot, Major League and Field of Dreams. When World War II threatens to shut down Major League baseball, an all-girls baseball team saves the day and brings many people hope. The team is good and Marla Hooch is the center of attention.

Not known for her good looks, Marla proves she can hit the shit out of the baseball and proves everyone wrong. I’m pumped the Rubberducks decided to honor her, as she deserves it.

First thing is the vintage World War uni look. The gals wore skirts as uni’s and they look sharp as hell with the high red socks. If you’ve seen the movie you can see everyone in the stands wearing clothes from the 50’s. Marla’s facial features look exactly like her and her stance is replicated as it is in the movie. The Rubberducks nailed this one for sure.

Sniper Rating: What stands out the most, is the saying on the front of the base. “What a Hitter”. This phrase says it all. If you’re looking for a legit collector’s item, make sure you score this asap. I can only see these going up in value as it was a great movie and even better theme. Marla Hooch scores a 9.0. If the box wasn’t a standard white, I’d give it a stand up 10. It’s that good.

Bobble of the Day “Fred Lynn” USC Trojans

Bobble of the Day

Player: Fred Lynn

Team: USC Trojans

Year: 2017

Manufacturer: Success Promotions

I love any USC Trojan bobbleheads. I love them! I love the colors, the logo and the school. It doesn’t matter who the player is, I’ll still find a way to score it for the collection.

So this was obviously a must have for me as Freddy Lynn played for my Red Sox for quite some years. Initially, I love the batting stance follow through as Freddy looks like he’s going yard. The uniform is old school USC with the high stir ups and the red and yellow outline around the entire uniform.

Sniper Rating: This is a well made, sturdy bobble. Nothing is loose on it, it’s got a good feel and the base resembles home plate with his name in raised letters. Absolute must have for a USC fan. Freddy Lynn and his USC bobble scores an 8.0.

Bobble of the Day “Nolan Ryan”

Bobble of the Day

Player: Nolan Ryan

Team: Corpus Christi Hooks

Year: Unknown

Manufacturer: RMCG (Worldwide Global Sourcing Company)

So I added this sweet Nolan Ryan a few weeks ago to my collection. You rarely find baseball bobbleheads of an actual player standing at the podium giving his induction speech at the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

A lot you millennials never got a chance to watch Ryan pitch. The guy was an absolute beast and seemed to never have a tired arm. I love the Hall of Fame sticker on front of the podium. Nolan is decked out in a suit and tie looking sharp as fuck. The entire base is a brown color with Nolan’s name in raised white letters.

Sniper Rating: The Corpus Christi Hooks upper management did one hell of a job with this one. Creativity at it’s finest. The box is also super bad ass, as it’s got nice photo’s of the Hall of Famer and direct phrases that Nolan said at his induction ceremony. Given the fact that this is a one of a kind SGA, I’d rate Nolan Ryan’s induction Cooperstown Hall of Fall speech bobble a 9.5.

Bobble of the Day “Klay Thompson/Stephen Curry”

Bobble of the Day

Players: Klay Thompson Stephen Curry

Team: Golden State Warriors

Year: 2014

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

This duel bobble came out when the Warriors won their most recent championship. It was the Klay and Curry show and they were nicknamed the “Splash Brothers”. All the finesse and high scoring as they were the talk of the NBA and I’m pretty sure an independent person had this custom bobble made of Klay and Steph.

I acquired this bobble recently via trade with a buddy out in Cali. For a duel bobble it’s pretty cool that depicts a lot of detail. The base is flashy with the yellow and blue colors and on the top of the base it reads, “Splash Brothers”. Curry and Thompson apparently have this pose in which their knees bend and the scream out of their lungs. I guess when your that good you can make faces like that. Curry looks like Curry but not so much Klay Thompson. Klay looks like he’s ready to take a big steaming dump.

Sniper Rating: Overall, this is a well made bobblehead. 2 years ago this duel bobblehead was the talk of the town. Now, since KD came on to the scene, Klay has taken a backseat and is often forgotten in this dynamic offense. The quality is fantastic but the “Splash Brother’s” was a thing of the past. Steph and Klay score a 7.5.
