The Bobble Hall Celebrates Curry’s Opening Night Triple Double

Stephen Curry and the Warriors marched to victory Tuesday night over the Los Angeles Lakers which included Curry’s first triple double of the year. No other than the Bobblehead Hall of Fame is here to honor Steph.

This new Framed Jersey series features some of sports biggest stars and mascots with their jerseys encased in a glass frame behind their bobblehead. Curry’s bobblehead features the point-guard making a celebratory 3-point signal on both hands with his #30 Golden State Warriors jersey in glass behind him. Curry had a career year last season, becoming the NBA scoring champion for the second time averaging 32 points a game. The two-time MVP signed a four-year contract extension in August that will keep him with the Warriors through the 2025-26 season, and he’s looking to lead the Warriors another NBA title after winning the Championship in 2015, 2017 and 2018.

“We’re excited to be releasing this awesome new bobblehead featuring one of the most dynamic players in the world as the 2021-22 NBA season tips off,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “Steph has been embraced by fans for his tremendous performance both on and off the field and we think they will love this new bobblehead.”

The Suns Look To Compete For A Championship With The Gorilla By Their Side

The Suns are looking to get back to the NBA Finals and their popular mascot the Gorilla is expected to lead the charge.

This new Framed Jersey series features some of sports biggest stars and mascots with their jerseys encased in a glass frame behind their bobblehead.

The Suns’ mischievous mascot was born quite by accident when Henry Rojas, a messenger for a singing telegram service, came to the Coliseum during a home game dressed as a gorilla in the winter of 1980. The arena’s security suggested he do a few dances underneath the basket during a timeout and the fans loved it. He continued attending games dressed as the gorilla until he was officially invited to be part of the team.

The Gorilla, who was inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame in 2005, remains one of the top mascots in all of sports.

Phoenix is looking to get back into the NBA Finals for another shot at the franchise’s first NBA title. The Suns lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2021 NBA Finals but have the potential to make another deep run this season.

“We’re excited to be releasing this awesome new bobblehead of The Gorilla,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “As one of only 25 mascots in the Mascot Hall of Fame, we thought the Framed Jersey Bobblehead would be a great way to commemorate on of the best mascots in the world and we think fans will love it.” Hurry up as the season starts today and grab your own Gorilla mascot bobblehead!

Make No Sport About It As The Bobblehead Hall Celebrates National Sports Day

MILWAUKEE –This morning, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled a limited-edition Sports Ball Bobble Series in honor of National Sports Day, which is being celebrated on Saturday, October 16th. The first-of-its-kind series features a bobbling baseball, basketball, football, golf ball, hockey puck, soccer ball, and tennis ball. The special-edition bobbles are being produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum.

Each realistic sports ball bobbles above a base that is a replica of a baseball diamond, basketball court, football field, golf course, hocky rink, soccer pitch and tennis court. The name of the sport is featured prominently on the front of the base in gold. Each bobble is individually numbered to 2,021 and they are only available through the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store. The bobbleheads, which will ship in January, are $25 each or $150 for a set of seven plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order. The bobbleheads are packaged in special boxes with the history of each sport on each box.

Here is a closer look at the status of each sport in the Sports Ball Bobble Series:

Baseball – The MLB playoffs are in full swing as the Los Angeles Dodgers look to defend their 2020 World Series championship – the organization’s first since 1988. The 2021 World Series is scheduled to start October 26th with a potential Game 7 on November 2nd.

Basketball – The NBA tips off its 75th Anniversary season on Tuesday, October 19th as the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks host the Brooklyn Nets in an Eastern Conference playoff rematch while the WNBA Finals is taking place between the Chicago Sky and Phoenix Mercury. The 83rd edition of the NCAA Tournament will culminate with the Final Four at the Superdome in New Orleans.

Football – The 102nd NFL season features the first 17-game regular season and will conclude with Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on February 13th. College football, celebrating its 152nd year in the United States, will hold its National Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on January 10th, 2022.

Golf – Shortly after the U.S. scored a dominating victory in the 43rd Ryder Cup, the 2021-22 PGA season got underway. The Masters returns to its regular spot on the schedule and will be the first major of the season when it is played April 7-10 in Augusta, Georgia.

Hockey – The NHL opened its 104th season on October 12th as its newest team, the Seattle Kraken, took the ice. The league returned to its normal October-to-April schedule with a full 82-game regular season.

Soccer – With over 3.5 billion fans worldwide, soccer is clearly the most popular sport in the world. FIFA estimates 265 million play the sport. The 22nd World Cup will be played in 2022 from November 21st to December 18th in Qatar – the first World Cup in the Arab world.

Tennis – Fans welcome the return of Wimbledon after it was canceled last year for the first time since World War II due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For the first time in 2022, Wimbledon will become a 14-day tournament with matches set to be played on “Middle Sunday,” traditionally a day off at the grass court Grand Slam.

Recognizing everyone from youngsters to seasoned professionals, National Sports Day was founded in 2019 by Wale Rocks, who wanted to celebrate the athletes, families, and fans of all sports. The special day is celebrated on October 16th because every sport is currently in action in some form across the country. As far as celebrating National Sports Day, sports lovers can honor the day by gathering with friends to watch their favorite team, or by getting out and playing and relishing the challenge and physical activity.

“While playing tennis early this year, someone we were playing with asked whether there was a tennis ball bobblehead, which immediately got us thinking about a series of balls that bobbled since nothing like that had ever been done,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “We’re thrilled to unveil the Sports Ball Bobble Series and know these will make a great addition to any collection since they are perfect for sports fans of all ages.’”

A One Of A Kind Lakers Bobblehead That Never Came To Fruition

The 2016 NBA draft wasn’t as deep as many other draft classes we’ve seen throughout the years. Ben Simmons, Brandon Ingram, Jamal Murray and Jaylen Brown were the most noticeable players to get selected in the first few picks. The Lakers had the 2nd pick after the 76ers and had a strong feeling that Simmons would land right in their lap. There was much discussion about Simmons’ skill set as he was labeled a 6’10” phenom who handles the ball and passes like a point guard, can barrel his way toward the rim anytime he wants and creates mismatches all over the floor, both in the half court and transition.

Our friends at Alexander Global Promotions decided to pitch a potential contract with the Lakers promotional department as AGP had a very STRONG feeling LA would draft Simmons. They proceeded to manufacture a one-of-a kind Ben Simmons Lakers bobblehead, but as soon as the 76ers drafted the LSU standout, the bobblehead idea never came to fruition. They never sent the bobblehead to the Lakers front office and here it is.

It’s the only Ben Simmons Laker bobblehead in existence as seen on the bottom of the base that reads 1/1 original prototype. It’s extremely well made as Simmons is in an action pose holding a basketball in his Lakers jersey. Simmons is wearing number #25 and on the back portion of the base reads #2 Pick 2016.

Considering Simmons’ struggles as a 76er, maybe in hindsight it was best he never put on an LA Laker uni, but this one of a kind bobble sure tells a good story of what could have been.

The Staten Island Pizza Rats Will Always Be Remembered By Local New York Fans

I’m not going to sugar coat anything. This was one of the most difficult blogs I’ve ever written. With as much confusion as I’ve ever encountered, here’s what I’ve come up with for your reading pleasures and a rare bobblehead to boot.

The Staten Island Yankees were a Class A Short Season New York-Penn League team that played in Staten Island from 1999 until 2020. Apparently, the ownership decided to take a vote to change the name somewhere around the end of 2017. After a somewhat controversial, but successful launch in 2018, the Staten Island Yankees brought back the Staten Island Pizza Rats for a second season. The short season minor league team Staten Island Yankees played as the Pizza Rats for seven games back in 2019.

The name “Pizza Rats” went borderline viral as many fans and baseball higher ups were disgusted by the name. Anyway, the votes were tallied and the Pizza Rats stuck around for a few years.

Apparently, last year given the pandemic, the Yankees ceased operations and totally got rid of the Staten Island team all together.  They were no longer part of the Yankees minor league affiliation structure and owner and higher up’s were not having it. They decided to take legal action against the New York Yankees to seek compensation for unpaid wages of players, managers and overall player development. The entire thing was a huge fucking mess and many local fans who supported the minor league team got thrown to the curb.

I did some recon and went to the Pizza Rats home website and discovered they had a shit ton of plans for their fans several years ago, operating as a normal minor league baseball team. They had merchandise to sell, promotions, fan giveaways, great seating and ticket options and a myriad of fun activities for families with children to enjoy at the game. Unfortunately, that all went to shit when the Yankees dumped the team.

I recently, came upon the official mascot of the Pizza Rats bobblehead. To my knowledge, this is one of three in existence. Manufactured by AGP, the Rat is positioned standing on one leg, holding up a slice of good ole fashioned Staten Island cheese pizza. The front letters are raised and one can only imagine how excited the fans would have enjoyed this mascot bobblehead of their favorite, local minor league team. I would assume during the turmoil of the team getting curb stomped that the Pizza Rats organization put a stop to the production of these bobbles as only 3 were ever made.

I’m a huge minor league fan as it’s the place where players develop and hopefully move on to the big leagues. The majority of ballparks are fun, engaging and overall have a positive atmosphere for fans to enjoy. I cannot give an opinion as I don’t know the finer details why the real reason the Pizza Rats got dismantled, but from the looks of the prototype bobble, I’d for sure would make my way to a Pizza Rats game, especially if they were giving out this bobblehead.

The South Side Has Swag As The Bobble Hall Releases 3 White Sox Bobbles

José Abreu, Yoán Moncada, and Luis Robert are three of the biggest stars for the White Sox, who won the American League Central Division with a 93-69 record and face off against the Houston Astros in a rematch of the 2005 World Series, which the White Sox swept. This marks the first ALDS for the White Sox since 2008.

Abreu is the reigning AL MVP and veteran of the team, while Robert is red-hot after returning to the lineup in late August from an early season injury, and Moncada is one of the keys to the White Sox offense as they look to make a deep playoff run. The Bobblehead Hall of Fame has a wide variety of White Sox bobbleheads available in their GIGANTIC store online.

“White Sox fans are excited for their team to be back in the ALDS, and we know they’re going to enjoy these bobbleheads featuring three of their biggest stars,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “The riding bobblehead series has been extremely popular and these three bobbleheads make a great addition to that collection which also includes several Bears and Cubs players.” Look no further to add some South Side swag to your bobblehead collection.
