Bobble of the Day “Allen Crabbe” Brooklyn Nets SGA Bobblehead

Bobble of the Day

Player: Allen Crabbe

Team: Brooklyn Nets

Year: 2018

Manufacturer: Coyote Promotions

So the Brooklyn Nets are not having the best season overall, but there’s something to be happy for. Their bobblehead giveaways. The Nets once again are giving away another gem of a bobble and tonight’s giveaway is Allen Crabbe. I’m sure the lines will be jam packed to get into the Barclay’s center and YOU should be there if your near the NY area. Coyote Promotions manufactured this beauty and it’s a must have in your bobblehead collection.

Crabbe is a matchup nightmare. As a 6’6 shooting guard, he’s literally impossible to guard. Does he have Lebron and D-Wade finesse? No, but he’s got the ability to put fans in seats. I love the fact that Coyote designed this bobble of Crabbe in his shooting pose as draining 3’s is Crabbe’s game. The base highlights center court at the Barclay’s Center and his name has raised white letters against a black backdrop that makes it stand out.

Sniper Rating: The mohawk hair design is incredible as Coyote added ridiculous detail along with Crabbe’s trimmed beard. The Nets have some of the best NBA SGA’s as there’s no other team that rocks the all-black colors, which is a dope feature. Coyote once again provided us fans with a deluxe box as Crabbe has multiple photo’s around the perimeter. Hands down a 9.0 rating for this Brooklyn Nets Allen Crabbe bobblehead and you should already be making plans to get to tonight’s game. The Nets and Coyote Promotions GO HARD.

Bobble of the Day “Jason Kidd” University Cal Berkeley SGA Bobblehead

Bobble of the Day

Player: Jason Kidd

Team: University of California, Berkeley

Year: 2018

Manufacturer: BD&A

Jason Kidd never had a lot of flare. He’ll never be remembered as a Lebron, KD or Curry. He was actually an awful shooter. What made Kidd so great was his willingness to distribute the ball and allow his teammates to score. Kidd started the trend of pass first, along with Steve Nash. U of Cal finally decided to dedicate a night to all fans by giving away a Kidd SGA bobblehead at a recent game. It boggles my mind why more colleges don’t do bobble giveaways of former GREAT players. It’s a money making system to fill seats and better yet, please fans who loved Jason Kidd or that of any player.

This SGA of Kidd disappoints me very much. First of all, it only stands a mediocre 5 inches. It’s basically a mini bobble. The amount of money Cal Berk collects from student tuition makes me wonder why this couldn’t be an 8 inch standard sized bobble.

Anyway, Kidd’s face looks NOTHING like him. I swear, if you covered the jersey and the name plate, you’d have no idea who this bobblehead is of. The ears are way to big and BD&A could have made his face a bit wider. One thing they did well, was they captured his one hand release when he shoots the ball. I will give them that. The uni and body structure is pretty spot on and the letters are raised which is a plus.

Sniper Rating: As a bobblehead reviewer, and a Jason Kidd fan, why in the hell did Cal Berk decide to have him shooting? He is known for his passing ability. I would have loved to seen Kidd dishing out an assist, instead of his one-handed jump shot. Poor execution by Cal and BD&A for not overriding this decision.

This is NOT a must have in your collection but if you are a HUGE Kidd fan, then score it. It will run you just under $40.00 on Ebay and I actually traded for this one. Poor facial design and horrible pose, this Jason Kidd bobblehead scores a below average 4.5 rating.

This mixtape is much more exciting than his bobble by far.

Bobble of the Day “Charles Barkley” Phoenix Suns SGA Bobblehead

Bobble of the Day

Player: Charles Barkley

Team: Phoenix Suns

Year: 2018

Manufacturer: 911!!!! Kloanz!

First and foremost, I wanna thank my man Jordan DeGroff for this SGA bobblehead. If you need any AZ bobblehead both retail and SGA, he is your man. Follow his Twitter feed at Bobbles-One.

Sir Charles!!!! You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for a Barkley bobblehead. Suns bobbles are a dime a dozen as there’s not many out there. I know the Phoenix Snipers are beyond pleased that the Suns did a bobble giveaway. Barkley played in an Era that included Larry, Magic and Hakeem and he should be commended for his tough-ass style of play. I can remember watching Barkley when I was 9 years old while my dad sipped on his Miller High Life and Sir Charles just plowed over defenders.

If I was at this game and was handed a bobble at the gate, I would instantly get chills. The box isn’t your standard shit white box as it’s flooded with photos and stats of Barkley. Sir Charles is rocking his purple jersey holding his MVP trophy from 1992. He’s got the red arm band on while his biceps are jacked. I love the fact that he’s actually wearing his “Barkley” sneakers as I can remember wearing a pair just like these when I was in middle school. The jersey and shorts are pretty well put together with the color combinations of black, orange and purple. Another positive is the base has a killer purple background with Barkley’s name in white raised letters.

Sniper Rating: Let’s really get to the point here. Yours truly “Kloanz manufactured this one. We all know how bad they are with the effort put forth in making their bobbles, but this one is much better. It’s well made, sturdy and has a good overall design to it. Now, there are still smudge marks all over the place which is typical Kloanz. Charles’ arms could have a little more definition to them as it looks like Kloanz just splatted some paint on and called it a day. As far as Barkley’s teeth, Kloanz just swiped the paint brush over his mouth and decided to not make any teeth. Very lazy move by Kloanz.

I need to see much more out of Kloanz than just this one. This is a small sample size of a lot of work that needs to be done from them. If the Angels hired them again this year for their SGA’s, then we can revisit this at a later date. Kloanz, as it seems has turned over a new leaf in 2018 and we can only hope they continue to get better.

As far as the item at hand, this Charles Barkley bobblehead scores a 8.5 and I’m more happy for the Suns fans than anything. They deserve a good product as they are some diehards out there in the “Valley”.

Bobble of the Day “George Springer” MVP Bobblehead

Bobble of the Day

Player: George Springer

Team: Houston Astros

Year: 2017

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

How about this phenom? Straight out of Uconn and the next thing you know he’s killing it at the Big Leagues. Given the fact that he stutters when he talks and has overcome crazy speech obstacles, he’s the most confident dude on the planet earth. Good for him for not giving a shit what other’s think! Springer was dynamite in the World Series and he was beyond deserving of the MVP award.

FOCO always makes the MVP bobble 10 inches and it just stands out that much more. The MVP trophy is a nice and shiny chrome color and Springer is grasping it ever so tight. The base has a killer geometrical design to it and has the burnt orange/navy blue colors splattered on top.

Sniper Rating: FOCO didn’t only made 2017 of these unlike previous years where they made million Cubs WS bobbles, so this will become a tough find in a few years. Given the fact that Springer is just starting his career makes this bobble more desirable. I wish the front letters were raised but prices have gone up tremendously and I can see why FOCO didn’t include that feature. Lastly, the facial features are spot on and this George Springer bobblehead scores a 9.0.

P.S. The fact that FOCO included Springer’s mohawk hair flaring out of the back of his hat is deluxe!

Here’s a taste on how good he was in the WS.

Bobble of the Day “Gary Carter” MLB Legends Bobblehead

Bobble of the Day

Player: Gary Carter

Team: Montreal Expos

Year: 2017

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

Gary friggin Carter. Can you name a nicer guy than “The Kid”? A Hall of Fame catcher and alot of people don’t know that Gary played for the Montreal Expos prior to joining the Mets. I’m pumped FOCO made an Expos bobble for Gary as he sure as hell deserves it. Gary’s life was cut short way to early due to a nasty case of the C word. He was a fan favorite of practically any fan of any team.

Let’s get to the bobble. Of course FOCO has Carter in a pose ready to nail out a runner at second base. The base is just like the Rollie Fingers and Johnny Bench bobble within this series. A classic rectangular base with a sharp looking gold strip on the bottom. Of course us collector’s want raised letters but what can we do? Take a flight to China and demand raised letters on our collectibles?

Sniper Rating: The collector’s box also makes this item a must have. It’s incredible with photo’s of Gary and the fact there’s the Hall of Fame logo makes it that much more desirable. This Gary Carter Expos bobblehead scores a 9.0 rating.

Bobble of the Day “Brutus” Ohio State Buckeyes National Champs Bobblehead

Bobble of the Day

Mascot: Brutus

Team: Ohio State Buckeyes

Year: 2016

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

God, who remembers that Ohio State team in 2007 with Mike Conley and Greg Oden? What an unstoppable force they were. They were one win away from a National Championship for the Buckeye faithful but came up short. The gents over at the Bobblehead Hall of Fame created a Brutus the Buckeye mascot championship bobble from when OSU won the title back in 1960. It was a long time ago but the fanhood runs deep within the Ohio State family.

For those of you that don’t have a clue, Brutus is the fucking man. He’s at every sporting event at OSU and engages the fans like no other. Buckeye fans love their Brutus and you’re gonna love this bobble.

Brutus is in his “boss” pose with the gray and red striped shirt with the all- red pants. His hands and arms are on his waist side  waiting for a big play to happen. The base has a killer geometrical shape to it and of course Ohio State University is in raised letters. The one National Championship trophy the Buckeyes won in back in 1960 sits right in the middle of the base.

Sniper Rating: The detail and effort put forth on this Ohio State bobblehead should make any OSU fan pleased. Great job by the Bobble Hall of Fame on the design and props to FOCO manufacturing it. Great collaboration on both sides as I’m a happy customer with this one. Brutus scores a 9.5 rating and click the direct link below to purchase as they are limited to only #216!
