The biggest mistake you can do when trading/buying bobbleheads directly through PayPal

I’m writing this blog to not only inform you about trading and buying, but recently, I’ve had several Snipers that have gotten ripped off and it’s intolerable.

Within the passion of collecting bobbles, we trade and buy offline. I’m a huge fan of trading. I can’t make it to California and Minnesota to Snipe so I trade. Everyone trades and buys off of Ebay. It’s part of collecting and it ultimately helps everyone out. Now, there’s a HUGE trust factor when buying and trading. Let me break this down. When you buy from Ebay, you’re covered regardless. When you directly send money through PayPal and use “Friends and Family” you are not covered if something arrives damaged or the item isn’t even sent! When sending money through PayPal using “Goods and Services” you are covered if anything bad happens. Yes, using Goods and Services you pay an extra small fee which is worth it just in case.

Recently, a few Snipers set up several deals to buy some bobbles from a seller on Instagram. They made a mistake. They paid through Friends and Family and the seller never sent the bobbles. They got juked out of their money. The dude won’t even respond to messages. Now, when I first started trading and buying directly through PayPal, I always used a simple method. When I trade with someone we BOTH box, bubble wrap and print out labels. Once a picture of both shipping labels are sent to each other, then we hand it off to the mail carrier. This way, we both know that the bobbles are shipped. Now, when I send someone money and I don’t really know you, I send funds through Good and Services so my ass is covered. NEVER and I mean NEVER send money through PayPal using Friends and Family if you don’t know the person. This shit is happening way too much and people are getting ripped off.

When you deal on some Facebook groups they typically have a Good to Go (G2G) list in which the person is reliable. That is something you can trust 98% of the time. Instagram has recently developed a large buying and selling community and some of the sellers are not trustworthy. I personally have developed such a trust factor with so many other Snipers that I rarely have to worry about getting scammed. But for most of you, you have to use Goods and Services. You just can’t trust people that you don’t know in this day an age. It’s worth playing the extra $2.00-$3.00 so you’re covered. Lastly, I would even be a stickler and ask the person to box, bubble wrap and print out label prior to sending any money. Many sellers will not approve of this but it’s worth asking. And whenever a seller on social media says please pay through Friends and Family, recognize that something isn’t right.

Protect yourself when trading and sending money directly through PayPal. You work too damn hard to make a living and the last thing you need in your life is to get fucking scammed by some dip shit trying to make an extra buck.

Bobble of the Day “Miami Maniac” Miami Hurricanes Exclusive Bobblehead

Bobble of the Day

Mascot: Miami Maniac

Team: Miami Hurricanes

Year: 2019

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

The Hurricanes are known for the “U” symbol with the official mascot of the Hurricanes being Sebastian. What most fans don’t know is the baseball team has their own mascot, The Maniac. Miami’s baseball never gets the recognition they deserve as they are often out shadowed by the football team. The baseball team year after year is ranked in the top 25 in the country and are down right nasty. At home games you can see The Maniac go ape shit when the Hurricanes score a run. The Bobblehead Hall of Fame thought of the idea of creating a bobble of The Maniac, as you just flat out don’t see many college baseball mascot bobbleheads. Yet again, another phenomenal idea by the guys at the Bobblehead Hall.

By far the most eye-popping feature on this bobble is the color variation. The mixture of orange, green, tan and the multi colored hat is downright attractive as hell. The simple stance by The Maniac holding a bat and ball in each hand is such a boss move. He’s cocky and he knows the Canes on the field are contenders every year.

Sniper Rating: We live in a bobblehead world with very few mascot bobbles within the college game so this is a no brainer to add this to your collection. Given the fact of its rarity and only 1,000 were manufactured, this Miami Hurricanes “The Maniac” bobblehead will be a an asset to your collection. Do yourself a favor and click the link below to scoop this one up from the Bobblehead Hall of Fame.

The Dodgers are suing P2 Promotions for backing out of manufacturing Tommy Lasorda bobbleheads

So I got a bunch of messages from a ton of Snipers throughout the day regarding the Dodgers suing P2 Promotions for not delivering and or making the promised Tommy Lasorda bobbleheads being given away later this season. TMZ first reported this at 10:48 am PDT. I did some digging and found out that this P2 Promotions company is super shady. First and foremost, the Dodgers have been going back and for with manufacturers for several years now. BDA has manufactured most of them but ever since the Dodgers had the idea to come out with 15 plus bobbles a year, BDA backed off a little because they manufacture soooooooo many bobbles per year for a shit load of teams other than the Dodgers. There’s frankly not enough man power in the China factories to manufacture every single Dodgers bobblehead and to make matters worse, make 20,000+ for every giveaway.

This is where P2 Promotions comes into the mix. They are a company out Canby, Oregon and I’ll be quite honest; they make terrible bobbles. Since BDA only committed to a handful of Dodgers bobbles this year, the promotions department for the Dodgers hired P2 Promotions to do the rest. Now, last year the Dodgers did not give out quality bobbles. Many chips, cracks and paint smudges all over the place and that is the result of P2 Promotions making them. Take a look at a few pictures of bobbles that P2 Promotions manufactured last year that were not the best of quality.

Anytime you see the bottom of a box that reads, “Made in China” This item is not a toy figurine is for decorative use only” you can bet your bottom dollar P2 Promotions manufactured it. In addition, they don’t even have the balls to put their company name on it. Now take a look at some BDA bobbles from last year that had MUCH better quality.

Without question, BDA creates much better quality bobbleheads than P2 Promotions. Ever since I read the article regarding the Lasorda bobbles this morning, I put two and two together. P2 Promotions manufactures any bobble for the Dodgers that doesn’t have the BDA logo on the bottom of the box.

Now, I can’t determine why P2 Promotions backed out of making the Lasorda bobbles. No clue. Many things could have happened. I would assume the Dodgers are suing for $175,000 because P2 Promotions broke their contract. I don’t blame the Dodgers one bit. It’s a really fucked up thing to do in the business world. I also know that many fans don’t understand how long and tedious it is to manufacture 25,000 bobbleheads. It takes months and months to create the mold, design and hand paint! I also know that MLB teams have to place their orders almost a year in advance and especially when they required to make 25k of them.

In conclusion, the Dodgers are somewhat to blame here. Stick to one fucking company and stay true to giving out 5-8 bobblehead per year tops! Enough with this 18+ bobble giveaways. I don’t blame BDA one fucking bit that they told the Dodgers we can’t manufacture all 18 of your bobbleheads. BDA is a top 3 manufacture for bobbleheads within the country and they do a lot of teams. Bottom line, enough is enough with so many bobbles. Remember, the point of a bobblehead giveaway is to bring a huge audience into your stadium to fill the seats. Then, the MLB team generates revenue that exceeds the cost of a bobble giveaway through parking, concessions and alcohol. This problem would 100% be avoided if the Dodgers gave out way less bobbles than they do.

Here’s a picture of the owner of P2 Promotions. Don Pierce. If you have beef, take it up with him. I am actually now thinking that P2 Promotions did the Dodgers and us bobblehead collectors a favor by backing out. It most likely would have turned out to be of shit quality anyway.

Bobble of the Day “Christian Yelich” Milwaukee Brewers 2018 MVP Bobblehead

Bobble of the Day

Player: Christian Yelich

Team: Milwaukee Brewers

Year: 2019

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

When you finish a regular season batting .326,  slamming 36 Homeruns, scoring 118 runs, and smacking in 110 RBI’s you better sure as hell win the MVP. Not only was Yelich’s stats off the charts, he single handily propelled his team deep into the playoffs. One has to wonder why he didn’t stack these numbers when he played on the Marlins, but that’s a foregone conclusion that the Brewers helped him with their potent lineup.

So this 2018 National League MVP bobble is as good as it gets. Brewers fans will gawk over this based on the detail and sturdiness alone. For shit and giggles, I weighed just the bobblehead on my scale and it came in at 1.48 lbs. This thing is one of the most sturdy and well built bobbles I’ve ever seen. The base has a “brick theme” to it and sits about an inch thick and Miller Park is detailed as fuck that sits right on top. Yelich’s pose is the best feature on this bobble as his entire uniform is very detailed and FOCO added a sleek gold color to the bottom of his cleats.

Sniper Rating: Yelich definitely deserved the MVP and you deserve to add this super limited bobble to your collection. MVP bobbleheads are a rarity and when they are made, you gotta capitalize and grab it. Head over to foco.com and score one before they sell out. There’s no reason in my mind that Yelich cannot duplicate the same numbers this year as he’s only going to get better as his career furthers.

Here’s the link to add this beauty to your collection.

Is it wrong to buy a bobble on Ebay then flip it back on Ebay for more money?

The majority of us buy bobbleheads on Ebay and cheer each other on when we “Snipe” for a great price. Whether you’re buying to add it to your collection, giving it to a friend or flipping it to make profit, we all have our reasons. But is it fucked up to buy “low” on Ebay, receive the bobble, then list it on Ebay for double what you paid for?

The reason I propose this question is because I received a message through Ebay last week and a seller was angry that I bought a bobble from him and then went and listed it back on Ebay. I stand here alone saying that I’m not the only one who does this and I’ll stand firm saying THERE’S NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. If you list an item on Ebay and don’t know the value then it’s your loss. It’s the same thing going to a tag or garage sale. Would a garage sale owner get pissed if I bought a board game for $5.00 and then flipped that shit on Ebay for $15.00? Who fucking cares. It’s the sellers fault they don’t know the market and it’s your gain. I actually do this all the time on Ebay. My knowledge of the market on Ebay is strong enough to know that I can buy low and sell high.

You should never feel guilty about buying low and flipping a bobble on Ebay for a higher price. NEVER. It’s the sellers lack of knowledge and your benefit. If that seller refuses to put in the leg work for an accurate price then they deserve to lose. I actually encourage this practice because I want you all to win and profit within the bobble game. There’s nothing wrong with it and don’t ever think otherwise.
