Who would you rather allow back in the NFL?

Tough question here Snipers. A fellow Sniper proposed this blog idea and I had to really think about it. Who would I rather allow back in the NFL? Johnny Manziel or Colin Kaepernick?

Firstly, when Kaepernick did play in his first 2-3 years in the NFL, he was good. He led the 49ers to the Super Bowl and lost to the Ravens. He had a laser fuckin arm as he used to pitch in college at Nevada. With all of his antics as his career went on with the National Anthem, it’s very hard to see him back on the playing field. If he ever stepped onto a field ever again, I think a shit ton of fans would badger him to quit. Now, what he’s doing with his so called “movement” is pretty incredible. He’s always publicly speaking and he gets a nice check every time he makes an appearance.

So we all know about Johnny. He came from money and many view him as a spoiled brat. Was he good in college at Texas & AM? Um ya. As of now, he’s easily in the top 8 of best Quarterbacks to play in college. The guy was lights out and a must see every game he played. But then after college, the partying started. The cocaine, the nightclub scene until 3am every other night, the whores that would blow coke off of his dick and the list goes on. He ruined it for himself. You can’t pull the shit he did and try to make an NFL career for yourself. But, I give him somewhat of a free pass here. He had the world in the palm of his hands. A huge celebrity and temptations you and I could never imagine. It’s VERRRRRY hard to resist those types of things when you’re 20 years old. I truly believe he’s learned from all of this as I haven’t heard his name on TMZ in a long time.

So where do we stand on this? I’m not asking who would do better, I’m asking who would you allow back in the NFL. In my honest opinion, I’d let Manziel back in. He was young and extremely immature but people develop and grow over time. I wouldn’t let Kaepernick back on the field because he ruffled waaaaaay to many feathers and I’d be concerned about his safety. Can you imagine him playing in Foxboro or Arrowhead?  Those fans would run out with switch blades and slice his ass up.

That’s my take so what’s yours?

Thanks Jay for the blog idea. Well thought out my friend.

What’s the most amount of money you’ve spent on a bobblehead?

This is always a great question within the bobblehead community. If you’ve been listening to me for years now, you know how important it is to “Snipe” the best price for the bobble you want to add to your collection. Now, there is an exception. There will be that one time where you’ve been hunting for that one special bobble to complete a set or whatever the reason may be. Either you’ve been watching it on Ebay for awhile or you found a collector that has it. The price may be steep but we’ve all done it before. I’ve boughten cases before for a few hundred dollars, but I’m specifically talking about a standard 7-8 inch bobble. Not a 3-footer.

Back when I first started collecting, I didn’t know any better and I wasn’t as patient as am I today. I wanted to complete my 2003 Rawlings Gold Glove Series bobblehead collection. Some of the players in this set is near impossible to find. All I needed was a Ozzie Smith of the Cardinals. I was hunting this one down for months and one finally popped on Ebay. It came brand new in the original collector’s box and I HAD to get it. I ended up forking over $165.00 which may not seem to bad, but back 7 years ago, that was a lot for me to pop. And come to realize, I ended up seeing a least 2 or 3 show up on Ebay for under $100.00 the next 6 months. You live and you learn I guess. It also taught me a firm lesson to remain patient. I’m glad I went through the experience but more importantly, I scored the bobble I needed.

Tell me what’s the most amount of dough you forked over for one single bobble!

Why you should say what your thankful for everyday and not just on Thanksgiving

One thing I hate about holidays is everyone gets all mushy and emotional. For example, on Thanksgiving everyone shares what they’re thankful for which is cute. Why not express during the month of May or August what they are thankful for? Ya, I know it’s a holiday, and I don’t expect people randomly to say they are thankful for something in June, but honesty, how many people share what they are thankful for NOT on Thanksgiving? Not many I bet ya.

ALWAYS remember and express to your loved ones that each and everyday that you love them and you are grateful for their presence; not just on holidays.

Happy Thanksgiving to all you Snipers.

What’s the best sponsor emblem on a bobblehead?

What’s the best sponsor emblem on a bobblehead?

On just about every SGA, there’s a sponsor emblem. It’s typically right in front and very visible as the sponsor themselves feel their money is going to increase revenue. After all, that’s why sponsors put their name on a bobblehead for the giveaway. Often times I feel the emblems get in the way and lose attractiveness from the bobble itself, but I’ve come to terms that they are just not going away. And as time has gone on, I’ve started to actually like them more and more. So, I’ve taken the liberty to present some of the best and not so great sponsor emblems that I have within my collection.

Pepsi and Coca-Cola . I’ll be the first to say that I maybe drink one can of soda a month. Given the fact that soda is God awful for you, everyone can relate and more importantly recognize the Pepsi and Coca-Cola logo. Pepsi is well advertised on SGA bobbleheads.

Coca-Cola is no slouch either advertising on bobbles.

I’ve never eaten at WaBa Grill, but I hear it’s fucking awesome. If I’m not mistaken it’s out West.

ATT. I get the concept of trying to promote your cellular services, but this emblem on my giveaway I receive at the gate will not make me change my mobile service provider. Sorry

I’m a grilling type of guy so this Old Bay Seasoning will 100% catch my attention. Well done Baltimore Orioles.

Need paper supplies? Look no further than W.B Mason

Another HOMERUN sponsor as anyone who doesn’t eat Lay’s potato chips needs a good swift kick to the nuts. Great chips, better snack, Lay’s is the shit. Period.

I love the Dunkin Donuts logo. It pops. It’s bright. Surprisingly, this is the only bobble I own that has the Dunkin sponsor logo. It doesn’t matter because Dunkin Donuts doesn’t need to advertise. They blow Starbucks out of the fucking water and their coffee speaks for itself.

Now, alot of these Minor League league baseball teams have the local dentist and chiropractor offices as their sponsor, but they don’t do anything for the global collector. If you don’t live in Portland, Maine, then why would you go to Cappeta’s dentistry? Bottom line is they sponsor these teams so they gain local customers.

Send me some photo’s of your favorite sponsors and I’ll throw them up on the site.

How should bobblehead be spelled?

Everywhere you search whether it be Google or Youtube regarding bobbleheads, everyone spells it different. The word “bobble” is an actual word. Many people spell it as “bobblehead or bobble head”. I’ve been known to spell it both ways as well. So for some clarification here ya go.

According to dictionary.com the definition of bobble is as follows:

1. a repeated, jerky movement; bob.
2. a momentary fumbling or juggling of a batted or thrown baseball.
3. a repeated “bobbing” movement
So for you English scholars, both “bobble” and “head” are actual words. When you combine both words together (bobblehead) it turns it into a “compound” word, which is the combination of two words in one.
Either way you want to spell it, I can give two smelly shits. Although, I do get a kick out of some of you who spell it either bobblehead or bobble head. Technically, the correct way to spell it is “Bobblehead”. There’s your Language Arts lesson for the day.

Are you a one team or a variety bobblehead collector?

What I mean by this, is do you collect just one team, multiple teams, or have your collection scattered all over the place?

Originally, when I started collecting, I only had a vision to collect Red Sox bobbles. As time went on, I started to develop a likeness for multiple teams and players. For months, all I focused on were Seattle Mariner bobbles and specifically Ichiro, Griffey and King Felix. That stopped abruptly and then I turned my attention to SF Giants and Dodger bobbles. Soon after, Trout and Harper were the new studs in the game and I soon found myself scoring a shit ton of their bobbles.

I went through many” binge collecting” for quite a few years. Now, I am currently all over the place. I get shit sent to me on a weekly basis from the 4 major sports and I’ve enjoyed collecting the movie character bobbles. I would advise staying committed to you’re favorite team but who the fuck am I to tell you what to do, as I just explained that my collection is all over the place as far as variety. The only negative with a massive, scattered collection is space. Space in most homes are extremely limited as the big cabinets take up a lot of room and then there’s hearing it from the wife or girlfriend.

My ultimate suggestion is buy whatever the fuck you desire and not worry about anything. If it makes you happy then you’ve won. Bottom line. We’re on this earth for a limited amount of time so Snipe any bobble you desire.
