Bobble of the Day

Mascot: Wally The Green Monster

Team: Boston Red Sox

Year: 2007

Manufacturer: Forever Collectibles

Wally has to be the most underrated Mascot in MLB and I’m not saying that because I’m a Sox fan. First off, who doesn’t like the Green Monster at Fenway? It’s famous and historic and it’s been there forever. So the Sox decided, let’s make a Green Monster mascot and call him Wally. Everyone loves Wally as a friendly, furry green creature roaming the stands at Fenway Park.

The Sox won the whole damn thing back in 2007 and in addition to a team World Series set, FOCO came out with the Wally bobble. This one is awesome. It’s got Wally with his Sox jersey on holding the World Series trophy like a boss! Wally’s green fur goes well with this bobble as it offsets the colors of navy blue, white and red. The base has the Red Sox logo and “World Series Champions” right in front. I love the name of “Wally The Green Monster” on front as it’s raised lettering instead of a lazy sticker.

Sniper Rating: The Red Sox won the World Series in 2004 and FOCO never came out with a Wally WS Bobble. I was pissed because he needed to be included. Thankfully, in 2007 they decided to include Wally and deservingly so. The detail on his uniform, the color combinations and the design of the base makes this a sure fire 9.0.

PS. I love the box as well. Typically, FOCO doesn’t put the name of the player or mascot on the box but they included Wally’s name on the front left side. Extremely detailed box.
