Backstrom may not have the name recognition as longtime linemate Alex Ovechkin, but his performance on the ice puts him in some elite company. Since joining the Capitals for the 2007-08 season, Backstrom has been one of the NHL’s most consistent scorers and playmakers, and he played a key role in Washington’s run to the Stanley Cup in 2018 with 23 points (five goals, 18 assists) in 20 games.
Today, our friends at FOCO unveiled a limited edition Nicklas Backstrom “Point Counter” bobblehead. Backstrom positioned in an action pose, stick in hand and the point counter dials built into the front of the base to keep track of his numbers. His number 19 is front and center on the back of the base with the Washington Capitals logo to show Caps fans how much of an important role he plays.
